My Review:

Lots of non-stop action and the drawings are still gorgeously drawn.  Glad to see Yuki and Zero are getting along and fighting along side each other.

Yuki and Zero chase Kaname down and confront him many times but he gets away as usual!

We learn the reason why Kaname is on his mission and what he intends to do!

Sarah finally dies (good riddance to her) and it wasn't soon enough for me!

Yuki takes away Zero's memory of her and Kaname to save his life.

My Review:

Kaname has finally returned to Cross Academy to kill Sara Shirabuki while a few members of the Vampire Hunter Society seem conflicted on which side they support.  Sara isn't going down without a fight and is using the Vampire Hunter Society, Yuki and feeding Zero her blood to control him but she doesn't know that Kaname has also fed him his blood.

Kaname and Ichijo are reunited and Rima comes rushing towards them because she wants both her guys back.  Hanabusa and Kain's reunion doesn't go as plan and Ruka saves Zero from Kaname which he believes is a big betrayal.

The artwork is gorgeous as usual and the action is more tense and bloody.  Emotions are more intensified and realizations are being discovered.

My Review:

Yuki is determined to go head on against Sara Shirabuki with the help of Zero's support and her/Kaname's allies including Maria.  They are trying to solve a major crisis which is caused by the bad blood tablets being distributed among the naive Night Class freshmen.  Yuki and Zero reconnect while Headmaster Cross heads out to take Kaname on his own and Aido and Kain have an awkward reunion.

Shiki also plays a major role by taking a major risk by putting his his body and soul in jeopardy trying to save Ichijo from Sara.

It was funny when Shiki nicknames Yuki "Learner's Permit Leader" of the gang and then reveals what he has done.  Really happy with the scenes between Yuki and Zero - maybe they will be really close like they use to be in the beginning.  Hmm kind of worried about the relationship is heading between Aido and Kain.

My Review:

In this volume Yuki has to deal with the mess that Kaname left from the last volume.  Everyone is in shock with the news of Kaname killed Aido's father and now has disappeared.  The aristocrats are afraid they might be next and they are wondering why Aido's father would agree to that.

Yuki's priority is to comfort and help Aido get through the pain of losing his father and to get answers from Kaname when she is able to track him down.

Yuki asks permission to start another Vampire Knight Class and she gets support from Shiki (her cousin), Rima and surprisingly Aido (who is in mourning and in great pain).

We also see Kaname's relationship with Kain turning very brutal with the implication that Kain will have to cut down Kaname.   Kain (wow he seems very angry and it really looks like he wants to kill Kaname) won't leave Ruka who seems to be very loyal to Kaname.

An interesting conversation between Aido and Zero with Aido letting Zero know he won't be like him and he will support Yuki who he believes is a good person inside and out.

Maria is back and lets Yuki know that she wants to steal Zero away from her and she seems to be socializing with the female vampire that has made a harem of females and taken Ichijo prisoner.

My Review:
This volume opens with Yuki in Kaname's past life with the mysterious women.  Kaname actually saw Yuki in this memory and when it ends he apologies for forcing his memory onto her.  She realizes maybe she is jealous and only wants to start a fresh new life with Kaname.  He tells her he needs to leave and run some errands.

Meanwhile The Vampire Hunter Society are interrogating Aido about Kaname's involvement with Sara  Shirabuki.  They are surprised he has let her make a harem of willing vampire followers within the girl's dormitory.  She has Ichijo do her dirty work which he isn't too keen about.  Aido maintains that he doesn't know what Kaname plans are and even if he did why would he tell them.

Yuki meanwhile is waiting with Aido's dad for news and still recovering from what she has learned from Kaname about her real brother at the mansion.  She is worried about her friend Aido and what he is going through.

Zero actually tortures Aido for any information that will prove Kaname's involvement with Sara and to take him down.  Kaname believes the Society won't touch Aido because he's not the one they want.

Kaname returns home and has a meeting with Ruka and Hanabusa where they inform him nothing much has happened.  They leave and meet Yuki in the hallway where Yuki tries to talk to them.  Ruka is rude and says she doesn't have time to talk to Yuki and they both leave.  Yuki searches for Kaname and asks him about Ruka but he brushes her off and tells her he needs to go.  He leaves.

Yuki goes out looking for Kaname and we see her in the woods.  When suddenly her foster father Kaien Cross grabs her and she goes berserk.  She starts thrashing around and actually cuts Kaien and he is trying to calm her down.  When she finally does she questions herself, "did I really do that?"   Kaien tells Yuki he needs to take her into custody because she is associated with Kaname and he has been added temporarily to the Hunter's List.

Then we see Zero studying when Kaito enters the room.  He tells Zero that Yuki has been taken into custody because the Kuran's have temporarily been placed on the Hunter's List.  We see a close up of Zero's face (you can tell he is conflicted) and he replies he will do anything he is required to do!

Then we see Yuki and Aido in the back of a Hunter's truck unharmed.  When Yuki and Aido arrive back at the mansion they witness Kaname beheading Aido's father.  They are both shocked by what happened and wondering why he would do this?

My Review:

The manga opens with Yuki, Aido and Kaname's familiar walking to the cemetery to go visit the Toma family.  Yuki notices Kaname's familiar looking up in the sky at bats and she comments they look like Kaname's but different.  The head of the Toma family doesn't like that comment and decides to teach Yuki a lesson.  He sends his familiar to the cemetery but Aido steps in front of Yuki but she decides she has it under control.  Yuki is hurt badly by the familiar and it seems like Kaname's familiar is destroyed.  Aido and Yuki are talking when Zero suddenly appears at the entrance.  He looks worried and lifts Yuki when she collapses and takes her to the nearest Vampire Hunter Society.  Aido can't seem to enter until Zero lifts him and carries him inside because of the security measures (I was laughing at this part - so funny).

Yuki is miserable and wants to just go home to Kaname so she runs away.  She's happy to see that Kaname's familiar is safe and he teleports her home.  Kaname lets her see his memories and we finally meet his former female companion and learn a secret about her.

Aido is being kept a prisoner at the Vampire Hunter Society where Zero has already tasered him.  He threatens Aido that there are ways to get information from him.  At the end of the book Zero seems to be turning towards the dark side of being a vampire and he sure has a scary smile too.

My Review (Spoiler Ahead):

I like this cover of Kaname with the white sakura leaves in his palm.  It really looks like he is clasping Yuki's face in his hand at the same time.

We open the manga with Kaname and Yuki where he tells her Zero will be there.  He asks her would he cause any problems.  She replies no he won't not while on duty.

Then we arrive at the Soiree with Yuki looking around when she spot Zero.  They are staring at each other but don't say anything.  Zero has this pained look on is face and Yuki looks worried.  She turns away and hangs her head down.

Sayori "Yori" Wakaba (Yuki's human best friend) is walking through the crowd of vampires and hunters looking for Yuki.  She encounters Sara Shirabuki who says she will show her to the hosts of the Soiree.  She grabs her hand when you see someone grabs Sara's arm, it's Zero!  Yuki is hurrying among the guests and she reaches everyone's sides and she puts her hand on Zero's arm and says, "please let her go, she's an important guest!"  Zero replies, "don't touch me!"  Yuki says, "I will once you let her go!"

Sara found Takuma unconscious and now keeps him as servant so she can inside information on what Kaname is up too!  She certainly treats him like a servant and I don't know how he can put up with it.  He decides to stay by her side for some unknown reason(s).  He pretends to be her brother at the school she is scouting out.  She tells Takuma she wants to be "Queen" and that is why she killed her lover and made a hunter kill herself after she was bitten.

We also see Rima and Shiki on a photoshoot.  They run into Takuma and are surprised to see he's still alive.  They believe he's mad about the fight last year.  They are wondering why he didn't come back to see them and to visit Kaname and Yuki.

Kaito and Zero are on patrol at the school that Sarah and Takuma are visiting.  Zero senses something and runs toward the threat.  He confronts Sarah and she threatens him.  She senses that he has pureblood in his veins.

We also meet a new character Isaya Shoutou a pureblood vampire that is a long-time friend of Kaien Cross.  He's the first vampire that Yuki makes her offer of being a grim reaper.  He's without any family since his wife sacrificed herself to turn their offspring human and being long since dead.  He missed the vampire ball because he was still in his 50 year slumber and he questions Yuki's wisdom on her mission but remains impressed by her and reflects how similar she is to her adoptive father Kaien.

At the end of the manga Kaname is sitting in a tomb and is surrounded by the ghost of Rido!  Rido is taunting him and saying" how long are you going to continue to treat her like a kindly older brother?" Kaname replies, "then you shouldn't have sacrificed their son with the same name as me!  You shouldn't have wakened me as the Progenitor!" Rido isn't quite dead he's in a phantasmal "fragment" of consciousness attached to Kaname, who can only been seen and heard by Kaname.

Hmm it looks like Kaname is as blood-thirsty as Rido!  The question is will he continue to treat Yuki kindly as his father Haruka did Juri or will he treat her like Rido would?

I can't wait until Vol. 13 comes on Oct 4th!

My Review:

I really love the gorgeous cover with Zero pointing his dagger at Yuki!

Zero is still attending Day classes while still carrying out vampire hunting duties for the Vampire Hunter Society.  He's living off campus in a one-bedroom apartment and is next in line to be president of the Vampire Hunter Society.  His blood thirst isn't quite under control yet and it's obvious he's still in love with Yuki!

Yuki is living in the Kuran residents with Kaname and the rest of the Night Class.  She's having trouble adjusting to the ways of the vampires and unable to control her blood thirst.  For a pureblood the thirst can only be satisfied by the one you love.  Kaname is fine with Yuki's blood, but half of Yuki's heart belongs to Zero so only half of her blood thirst is satisfied!

The school is still open but the Night Class is no longer there and most of the students have their memories erased except for a select few!  The senate is completly gone and most of the younger generation support Kaname while others aren't sure if having a pureblood ruling over them is a good thing.

We meet a new character Kaito who use to train with Zero who befriends Yori.  He seems like he is teasing or antagonizing Zero with his promise to kill Yuki!  That man is up to something!

There is a Soiree at the end of the volume where it shows that vampires and hunters can be friendly.  The two questions are how many vampires will show to support Kaname and how about Zero's promise to kill Yuki next time he sees her!
