15th Affair (Women's Murder Club)

I've finished 15th Affair the 15th book in his Women's Murder Club series by James Patterson.

Product Description

Detective Lindsay Boxer chases an elusive, possibly very dangerous suspect...her husband, Joe.

Lindsay Boxer has a beautiful baby daughter and a husband she loves unconditionally. She'd always been too focused on her career as a San Francisco police detective to wonder what domestic bliss might feel like, but now she knows, and she's never been happier. She can't imagine that a brutal murder at a luxury hotel, and the disappearance of a gorgeous blond woman from the scene, could have anything to do with her own life and marriage -- yet soon both are unraveling, and Lindsay can't ignore disturbing clues that hit very close to home.

Just as bombs are starting to go off in her personal life, an explosive tragedy rocks San Francisco, plunging the city into chaos. Pressed into duty to investigate a criminal plot that stretches around the globe, Lindsay again finds herself following signs that lead to her own front door. Thrown into a tailspin and fighting against powerful enemies trying to protect their operatives and conceal the truth at all costs, Lindsay turns to the Women's Murder Club for help as she desperately searches for the elusive, and deadly, blonde before she loses Joe for good.

Filled with the pulse-pounding intrigue that has made James Patterson the world's #1 bestselling writer, 15th Affair is an emotionally charged story that proves all is fair in love, war, and espionage.

MT Review: Cross Justice

I've finished "Cross Justice" the 23rd book in Alex Cross series by James Patterson.

Product Description

The toughest cases hit closest to home.

Alex Cross left his hometown, and some awful family tragedies, for a better life with Nana Mama in Washington, DC. He hasn't looked back.

Now his cousin Stefan has been accused of a horrible, unthinkable murder, and Cross drives south with Bree, Nana Mama, Jannie, and Ali to Starksville, North Carolina, for the first time in thirty-five years. Back home, he discovers a once proud community down on its luck, and local residents who don't welcome him with open arms. As Cross steps into his family home, the horrors of his childhood flood back -- and he learns that they're not really over. He brings all his skill to finding out the truth about his cousin's case. But truth is hard to come by in a town where no one feels safe to speak.

Chasing his ghosts takes Cross all the way down to the sugarcane fields of Florida, where he gets pulled into a case that has local cops needing his kind of expertise: a string of socialite murders with ever more grisly settings. He's chasing too many loose end -- a brutal killer, the truth about his own past, and justice for his cousin -- and any one of the answers might be fatal.

In Cross Justice, Alex Cross confronts the deadliest -- and most personal -- case of his career. It's a propulsive, edge-of-your-seat thrill ride that proves you can go home again -- but it just might kill you.

My Review:

Alex Cross has finally come home after 35 years to find out his gym teacher cousin Stefan Tate is in jail accused of killing and torturing his student 13 year old Rashawn Turnbull.  As he investigates further he learns his cousin was set up and their were inconsistencies of the evidence and they was a cover up and who were all involved.

He also learns more about his mother and father's death and it leads him to Florida when he finds out his father actually lived after what happened to him.

I feel so sorry for the victims and especially Rashawn because of what happened to him which was cruel and sadistic.

MT Review: The Murder House

I've finished "The Murder House" by James Patterson.

It has an ocean-front view, a private beach -- and a deadly secret that won't stay buried.

No. 7 Ocean Drive is a gorgeous, multi-million-dollar beachfront estate in the Hamptons, where money and privilege know no bounds. But its beautiful gothic exterior hides a horrific past: it was the scene of a series of depraved killings that have never been solved. Neglected, empty, and rumored to be cursed, it's known as the Murder House, and locals keep their distance.

Detective Jenna Murphy used to consider herself a local, but she hasn't been back since she was a girl. Trying to escape her troubled past and rehabilitate a career on the rocks, the former New York City cop hardly expects her lush and wealthy surroundings to be a hotbed of grisly depravity. But when a Hollywood power broker and his mistress are found dead in the abandoned Murder House, the gruesome crime scene rivals anything Jenna experienced in Manhattan. And what at first seems like an open and shut case turns out to have as many shocking secrets as the Murder House itself, as Jenna quickly realizes that the mansion's history is much darker than even the town's most salacious gossips could have imagined. As more bodies surface, and the secret that Jenna has tried desperately to escape closes in on her, she must risk her own life to expose the truth -- before the Murder House claims another victim.

Full of the twists and turns that have made James Patterson the world's #1 bestselling writer, THE MURDER HOUSE is a chilling, page-turning story of murder, money, and revenge.

My Review:

Storyline:  No.

When a Hollywood power broker and his mistress are found dead in the abandoned Murder House, the gruesome crime scene resembles murders in the past.

Jenna quickly realizes that the mansion's history is much darker than even the town's most salacious gossips could have imagined. As more bodies surface, and the secret that Jenna has tried desperately to escape closes in on her, she must risk her own life to expose the truth -- before the Murder House claims another victim.

Romance:  There is not much romance in this book but it is there!  Jenna has two admirers after her affections and she is insanely attracted to one (the bad boy) while the other she only thinks of as a good friend.

She was driving me crazy with her indecisiveness feelings about Noah.  She would believe he was not guilty and then she would change her mind and believe he was!

Villains(s):  The dead villains are very insane and scary but the thing is they know it!  The living villain is even more insane, sadistic and cruel.

If you are paying close attention I know you would be able to figure out who the killer is and why they are doing it.

MT Review: Private Vegas (Hardcover)

I've finished "Private Vegas" the 4th book in his Jack Morgan series by James Patterson.

Las Vegas is a city of contradictions: seedy and glamorous, secretive and wild, Vegas attracts people of all kinds -- especially those with a secret to hide, or a life to leave behind. It's the perfect location for Lester Olsen's lucrative business. He gets to treat gorgeous, young women to five-star restaurants, splashy shows, and limo rides -- and then he teaches them how to kill.

Private Jack Morgan spends most of his time in Los Angeles, where his top investigation firm has its headquarters. But a hunt for two criminals leads him to the city of sin -- and to a murder ring that is more seductively threatening than anything he's witnessed before. PRIVATE VEGAS brings James Patterson's Private series to a sensational new level.

This was a very fast paced thriller from beginning to ending that never stopped!

The villains were very vile and disgusting people who got away because they had immunity but they sure got their comeuppance at the end!   YEAH!

I'm glad that Justine has a found a new guy that she really likes and who treats her right!  I feel sorry for Jack though we he finds out who it is at the end!

TOMMY is back and bad as ever!

My Review:

The main villain is a very sick and demented person who relishes his kills and loves to watch the end result.  They really are getting off tormenting Alex and enjoying toying with him.

The secondary villain is kind of annoying and gets on your nerves with their constant yabbering.

Wow I really felt Alex's anguish and torment when he believed his family was kidnapped and killed in sickening ways!

MT Review: NYPD Red 2 (Hardcover)

I've finished "NYPD Red 2" by James Patterson.

When NYPD Red arrives at a crime scene, everyone takes notice. Known as the protectors of the rich, famous, and connected, NYPD Red is the elite task force called in only for New York City's most high-profile crimes. And Detective Zach Jordan is the best of the best, a brilliant and relentless pursuer of justice. He puts professionalism above all, ignoring his feelings for his partner, Detective Kylie MacDonald, the woman who broke his heart when they first met in the academy.

But even with their top-notch training, Zach and Kylie aren't prepared for what they see when they're called to a crime scene in the heart of Central Park. They arrive to find a carousel spinning round and round, its painted horses grinning eerily in the early morning dark. There is only one rider: a brutally slaughtered woman, her body tied up and dressed in a Hazmat suit, on display for the world to see.

The victim, a woman of vast wealth and even greater connections, is the fourth in a string of shocking murders that have hit the city. As the public pressure mounts, and political and personal secrets of the highest order hang in the balance, Zach and Kylie must find out what's really behind the murderer's rampage. But Kylie has been acting strange recently -- and Zach knows whatever she's hiding could threaten the biggest case of their careers.

NYPD Red 2 is the next outstanding novel in James Patterson's newest series, a thriller that careens through New York City and deep into the psyche of a depraved killer you've never seen before.

My Review:

This book opens with a 7 year old boy who shots a bogeyman.

John O'Hara is an FBI agent who has recently lost his wife in a car accident and is on suspended leave to put himself back together. He is a devoted father to his two young sons and has a great relationship to his in-laws.

He is specially requested to solve a murder of a recently married couple vacationing in Turks and Caico for their honeymoon while in the sauna. The husband is the son of a very wealthy, important and influential man who is funding the investigation. The Turks and Caico cop has an invested interest in the investigation but wants to prevent too much negative publicity for tourism and the hotel where the scene of the crime was committed.

Special Agent Sarah Brubaker is after another serial killer who targets victims with the same shocking thing in common.

This book had fascinating characters, great locations, two interesting story lines and a couple of terrifying and psychotic serial killers.

My Review:

During a dark and stormy night Lindsay gives birth to her baby girl.  Then a week later her boss calls her back to work to help solve a couple of cases.

A rising football star for the San Francisco 49ers is suspected of killing his girlfriend Faye Farmer.  Then her body is stolen from the morgue and Lindsay has to track down the body and also the body of a morgue guard to help her friend Claire.  Then they get a call regarding two bodies burned in a car in Nevada and could they be Faye and the morgue guard.

There is a weird professor who dreams about murders and they happen a few days later.  Is he a killer or is he some nut case?

There is Randy Fish a psycho sexual murderer who is playing games with Lindsay

Also there is Yuki Castello a SF lawayer who is trying to prosecute Keith Herman for the murder of his wife and the disappearance of his daughter.

Joe has also lost his job and is the process of looking for another one while taking care of his and Lindsay's baby who is sick.

This book had lots of twists and turns with some very suspenseful moments that kept you on the edge of your seat.  I thought the Lindsay family crisis was very interesting and I learned about the illness her baby had.

MT Review: Alex Cross, Run [Hardcover]

I've read "Alex Cross, Run" the book in his Alex Cross series by James Patterson.

Product Description

DON'T LOOK, ALEX CROSS

Top plastic surgeon Elijah Creem is renowned for his skills in the operating room, and for his wild, no-expense-spared "industry parties," bringing in underage exotic dancers and models for nights of drugs, champagne, and uninhibited sex. That is, until Detective Alex Cross busts one of Creem's lavish soirees and ruins his fun. Now Creem is willing to do anything to avoid going to jail.

DON'T THINK, ALEX CROSS

But Alex doesn't have time to dwell on that case. A beautiful woman has been found murdered in her car, a lock of her hair viciously ripped off. Then a second woman is found hanging from a sixth-floor window with a brutal scar slashed across her stomach. When a third mutilated body is discovered, rumors of three serial killers on the loose send Washington D.C. into an all-out frenzy.

JUST RUN

Alex is under so much pressure to solve these three grim cases that he hasn't noticed that someone else investigating him - someone so obsessed and so twisted that they'll do anything - ANYTHING - to get the vengeance they require. Alex Cross, Run is James Patterson's most unrelenting story yet-a white-hot, sensational thrill ride with the most extreme and gripping characters Patterson has ever brought to life.

My Review:

The book opens with Alex Cross raiding Elijah Creem's lavish party full of underage girls, guys, drugs, champagne and uninhabited sex.  Elijah is the #1 top well renowned plastic surgeon and when Alex ruins his fun he is determined to do anything to avoid going to jail.  He has recruited his best friend from college Bergman an owner of an modelling agency to help him in his sick and demented killing games.

Also someone is stalking and hunting Alex and his family while on a killing spree.  He enjoys taunting Alex,  follows him to crime scenes and even provokes him to action for his own sick and twisted pleasure.

Elijah is one sick and perverted man who loves underage girls and he has a game with his friend to up one another.  The crime scenes are pretty brutal in nature.

Joshua is sick and perverted who loves underage boys and his crimes are pretty brutal in nature since he likes to stab a certain area of the anatomy many times in a cruel way.

Guidice is a sick psycho who wants to make Alex suffer before killing him.  His crime scenes are pretty brutal too but not as bad as the other two.  He's out for revenge because he blames Alex for the death of his fiancee.

My Review:

Eight years ago Jack Morgan owner of Private (the world's most exclusive detective agency) saved Hannah Sharpiro's life from a horrible death in Los Angeles.  Hannah had to watch unspeakable acts bestowed upon her mother because he father refused to pay ransom money for their freedom.

Hannah is a young and beautiful American student who has fled her country but now her past has caught up with her in London.  Now it's up to former Royal Military Police Sergeant Dan Carter head of the London Private Office to save her once again.

Dan Carter's ex-wife DI Kirsty Webb is assigned to the horrifying cases of women being abducted from the streets and a few days later their mutilated bodies are found.  Then when Hannah is abducted Kristy finds a link that ties the two horrifying cases together.

This was a very fast paced thriller with lots of action: murder, rape, hypnotic suggestion, kidnapping, organ thievery ring an organized crime.  I did feel like there was a London feel to the story and the characters were well developed.
