YA Review: Twisted (Harlequin Teen) [Hardcover]

I've finished "Twisted" the 3rd book in her Aden Stone series by Gena Showalter.

Product Description

Sixteen-year-old Aden Stone has had a hell of a week. He's been:

Tortured by angry witches. Hypnotized by a vengeful fairy. Spied on by the most powerful vampire in existence. And, oh, yeah, killed — twice.

His vampire girlfriend might have brought him back to life, but he's never felt more out of control. There's a darkness within him, something taking over … changing him. Worse, because he was meant to die, death now stalks him at every turn. Any day could be his last.

Once upon a time, the three souls trapped inside his head could have helped him. He could have protected himself. But as the darkness grows stronger, the souls grow weaker — just like his girlfriend. The more vampire Aden becomes, the more human Victoria becomes, until everything they know and love is threatened.

Life couldn't get any worse. Could it?

My Review:

At the end of Unraveled Tucker stabbed Aden and the aftermath of that situation.  This book opens with Aden and Victoria fighting for their lives to survive and not kill each other.  They each take turns feeding off each other and when they finally gain control of themselves they have switched personalities and powers.  Aden is the big bad vampire and Victoria is the helpless human.

Mary Ann has run away thinking she could protect everyone she loves but she doesn't know she has fairies and witches after her.  Riley goes after her and with the help of Tucker they manage to lessen the enemies.  To really save Mary Ann Riley makes a huge decision which causes a major situation for Mary Ann.

At times I found it hard to watch Aden struggle with his vampire instincts because I wasn't sure if he was going to hurt Victoria in some scenes or not.  He says he would never hurt her - but you never know.  I really felt for him when he found out who his dad really was - he was a real jerk.

I really feel for Victoria because she is so helpless now when she really wants to help Aden - glad her brother is helping him.

It was heartbreaking what happened to Mary Ann at the end of the book and also to Riley.  Glad Tucker storyline is finally finished never really liked him.

YA Review: Unraveled (Harlequin Teen) [Hardcover]

I've finished "Unraveled" the 2nd book in her Aden Stone series by Gena Showalter.

Product Description

Since coming to Crossroads, Oklahoma, former outcast Aden Stone has been living the good life. Never mind that one of his best friends is a werewolf, his girlfriend is a vampire princess who hungers for his blood, and he's supposed to be crowned Vampire King — while still a human! Well, kind of.

With four — oops, three now — human souls living inside his head, Aden has always been "different" himself. These souls can time-travel, raise the dead, possess another's mind and, his least favorite these days, tell the future.

The forecast for Aden? A knife through the heart.

Because a war is brewing between the creatures of the dark, and Aden is somehow at the center of it all. But he isn't about to lie down and accept his destiny without a fight. Not when his new friends have his back, not when Victoria has risked her own future to be with him, and not when he has a reason to live for the first time in his life ….

My Review:

The first storyline deals with Aden being officially crowned King of the vampires in two weeks when Vlad funeral ceremony is scheduled.  Many of them aren't happy about this but he slowly earns their respect by proving himself capable of leading them.  He's able to control his powers, make good sensible decisions and possesses some new abilities.

The second storyline deals with Mary-Ann hating being the weakest link so she asks Aden to teach her how to fight and break holds, etc.  Riley isn't happy about this and gets jealous (he definitely shows it) and voices his opinions.  He's the cool guy with the hot looks, sweet, caring and very possessive boyfriend.  Then Mary-Ann has to deal with losing her hunger for human food instead she enjoys draining supernatural creatures of their life forces.

This book had tons of character development with non stop action.  It made me laugh hysterically when Riley turned into his wolf self and interacted with Mary-Ann's father.

Intertwined (Harlequin Teen) [Paperback]

I've finished "Intertwined" the 1st book in her Aden Stone series by Gena Showalter.

Product Description

There's something about the new guy at Crossroads High…

Most sixteen-year-olds have friends.

Aden Stone has four human souls living inside him:

One can time travel.

One can raise the dead.

One can possess another human.

One can tell the future.

Everyone thinks he's crazy, which is why he's spent his entire life shuffled between mental institutions and juvie. All of that is about to change, however. For months Aden has been having visions of a beautiful girl —a girl who carries centuries-old secrets. A girl who will either save him or destroy him.

Together they'll enter a dark world of intrigue and danger…but not everyone will come out alive.

My Review:

I don't want to ruin any spoilers because I know alot of my blog followers haven't read this book yet.

I would recommend reading this series if you like heroes/heroines with a great storyline with supernatural abilities and strengths and character development.

I can't wait till "Unraveled" comes out on Aug 31st!
