RS Review: Relentless [Mass Market Paperback]
I've finished "Relentless" the 3rd book in her Lodestone series by Cherry Adair.
Product Description
An Ancient Legacy
Lately, the gods are not smiling on Isis Magee. How else can she explain the bizarre events that have led her on a relentless high-stakes chase from Seattle to London to Cairo in search of the elusive tomb of history’s beautiful and enigmatic queen Cleopatra?
A Hidden Treasure
Isis has only two leads: a fragmented trail of clues offered in rare moments of lucidity by her father, a once-respected archaeologist whose last dig ended in disaster, and the unique sixth sense of sexy Lodestone agent Connor Thorne.
The Passion of a Lifetime
Connor also encountered tragedy in the Egyptian desert not long ago, and as Isis pulls him deeper into her mission to restore her father’s reputation, he is secretly plotting a revenge of his own. Propelled across wild, untamed sands by vicious unknown forces, the duo is seduced into a labyrinth of secret chambers. When they fear they can go no further, they surrender to their incendiary desires and discover that the prize each separately seeks may be waiting at the end of the same dangerous road.
About the Author
Cherry Adair has garnered numerous awards for her innovative action-adventure novels, which include Black Magic, her Cutter Cay series and thrilling Edge trilogy, as well as her Lodestone series, which includes Hush and Afterglow. A favorite of reviewers and fans alike, she lives in the Pacific Northwest.

My Review:
Lodestone agent Conner Thorne is on medical leave after a tragedy on his last MI6 mission and his friend Zak Stark hands him a job which he thinks is a waste of time. His client Isis Magee wants him to help her find the beautiful Cleopatra's tomb. Her father claimed he found the tomb but is currently in a senior's home with Alzheimer and doesn't remember where. Connor tells her the can find the tomb if she has some objects he can touch which is his special gift.
He finally agrees to accompany her from London to Cairo where they have to dodge bullets, thugs and death. As they investigate further they realize events are related to her father's dig.
I loved how the author described the Egyptian people and their culture which makes me wish to visit Egypt even more.
Even though I liked the romance between Connor and Isis (which was very steamy and you can sense the attraction between them) I thought the sex scenes were placed at the weirdest times (dodging bullets and thugs). Thorne was in a state of arousal throughout the book and I thought it was kind of strange that he thought Isis was sexy when she was dirty and sweaty.
4/5

RS Review: Afterglow (Lodestone) [Mass Market Paperback]
Afterglow (Lodestone) [Mass Market Paperback]
Product Description
Pleasure with a price.
A high-profile celebrity wedding in Monaco is the kind of A-list event security specialist Rand Maguire excels at. Everything goes like clockwork, until guests start inexplicably losing all their inhibitions . . . .
Painful secrets from the past.
Rand is no stranger to the effects of Rapture. His chemist father’s attempt at a cure for depression caused Rand’s mother’s death years ago, and put his father away for her murder. Now someone is circulating Rapture in a campaign of terror, intending to manufacture and sell it on a global scale. But with no leads, Rand feels the heat.
Passion with no limits.
Sexy Lodestone agent Dakota North is sent to help Rand kick-start his search, armed only with her uncanny sixth sense. But what they discover in their race across Europe is more far-reaching and lethal than an erotic street drug. From a Barcelona bank heist to a million-dollar arms deal in Paris, Dakota and Rand give in to an insatiable craving for each other in nights of pure carnal delight, no senses left untouched. No Rapture necessary.

My Review:
Rand Maguire was a former stunt driver turned security specialist for the Hollywood elite. He certainly had survival and escape techniques you won't believe.
Dakota aka Doctor North is a Lodestone agent who is a former employee of the company that made Rapture a very potent and deadly highly addictive sex drug which lowers your inhibitions . She has a history with Rand which turned very bitter, viscous and hurtful accusations against Dakota. She never got to tell her side of the story.
Rand Maguire is providing security at a high-profile wedding in Monaco when the guests suddenly lose their inhibitions and are in horny state. He suspects the drug Rapture is the culprit and calls his friend Zach the owner of Lodestone who assigns Dakota North to the case.
Dakota used to work in the lab working on Rapture before it was deemed to deadly. She assumed all records were destroyed.
I thought Rand was hot and sexy but I hated the way he treated Dakota because he blames her for the death of his mother and the incarceration of his dad. He was rude, cruel and horrible to her. He never gave her a chance to tell her side of the story.
The romance was very hot and steamy but I thought the first sex scene when both were affected by Rapture was kind of strange and out of sorts.
3.5/5
