NA Review: Dark Turns
I've finished "Dark Turns" by Cate Holahan.
Product Description
Nia Washington is an incredibly talented ballerina. She fought her way up from the streets and was nearing the pinnacle of her profession when an injury and a broken heart derailed her career. Taking a temporary job at an elite boarding school was supposed to give her time to nurse both body and soul. It was supposed to be a safe place to launch a triumphant comeback. It is anything but.
Shortly after she arrives at the beautiful lakeside campus, she discovers the body of a murdered student, and her life takes a truly dark turn. It’s not long before she is drawn into a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with a ruthless killer. And Nia isn't the only target. She must use all of her street smarts to protect her dancers, save a wrongfully accused student, and rescue the man she loves.
A stunning and suspenseful tale of passion and betrayal, Cate Holahan's Dark Turns will take readers deep into the mind of a murderer and the woman who must put an end to the killing.

My Review:
I liked the setting of the story set in the elite boarding school in the world of ballet. I enjoyed learning the techniques and the words used to describe the moves.
I really hated the romance between Nia and Peter because I thought she wasn't really ready for another relationship. She was still in love with her ex-fiance and just hopped into bed with Peter who I couldn't stand (just something about him and I thought he was a little too smarmy and slick)!
I hated most of the characters but I did feel for a couple of the females with the situations they had to go through and experience.
3/5

N/A Review: The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden (Paperback)
I've finished "The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden by Jessica Sorensen.
From the bestselling author of The Secret of Ella and Micha comes a mesmerizing novel of fate, friendship, and the healing power of love.
THE COINCIDENCE OF CALLIE and KAYDEN
For Kayden, suffering in silence was the only way to survive. If he was lucky, he could keep his head down, do as he was told, and make it through the day. But one night it seemed like his luck-and his life-might finally end until an angel named Callie appeared just in time to rescue him.
Callie has never believed in luck. Not since her twelfth birthday when everything was taken from her. After the worst was over, she locked up her feelings and vowed never to tell anyone what happened. Now, six years later, she continues to struggle with the painful secret that threatens to consume her.
When fate lands Kayden and Callie at the same college, Kayden is determined to get to know the beautiful girl who changed his destiny. Quiet and reserved, Callie still fears letting anyone else into her world. But Kayden is certain that Callie has come back into his life for a reason. And the more he tries to be a part of her life, the more he realizes that, this time, it's Callie who needs to be saved.

About the Author
The New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Jessica Sorensen, lives with her husband and three kids. When she's not writing, she spends her time reading and hanging out with her family.
My Review:
This was a very emotional and heartbreaking book and you will cry during some parts.
Callie is holding a terrible secret a women shouldn't have to endure. You can really feel the pain, suffering and loneliness she is going through. She was a great heroine because she was tough and isn't letting it stop her from starting a new relationship with Kayden.
Kayden is also suffering through his own hardship and I don't understand why he won't say anything to anyone to help with the problem.
I really like the friendship that Callie has with Seth because he supports her and encourages her to step out of her comfort zone. Everyone needs a friend like this.
Luke was also a great friend!
