I've finished "My Boyfriend is a Vampire Vol. 3 and Vol. 4" by Han Yu-Rang.

My Review:

This volume Jean Young escapes Ryu Mason's mansion and runs back to his dormitory.  He meets two of his roommates but they don't know who he is and they mistake him for a girl.  Then he visits the orphanage and Madame Director doesn't know who he is either.  Then he runs into Sean another friend and Rei who says, "she's my new girlfriend!  Since you're so pretty I'll treat you really special!"  Jean then punches him and asks, "who do you think you're flirting with?" Then the mean gym teacher comes along and makes them run off to class while he kicks Jean Young and tells her never to come back again.

Jean runs into Ryu and asks him, "what did you do to them?" and then punches him twice before the butler stops him.   The butler explains that Ryu did it for his own good and he can't live among the humans anymore since he's a vampire now."  Jean runs off again mad.

Then Jean runs into Saul and he doesn't remember who he is either but is that true?  Saul looks at Jean and turns around and leaves.  Later on Jean talks to Saul again and notices he has turned into a girl again.  He starts touching himself and Saul's nose starts bleeding and he faints.  He manages to wake up and asks Jean to be his girlfriend.  Jean punches Saul and asks him, "do you know who you are flirting with?"

Then Jean sees Ryu's butler and he asks him, "what did you do?  You did this didn't you?"  Then Ryu explains that Jean's life will be different now that he is a vampire".  To protect him he should go to his school and blend in as a student.  Then we see Jean getting a short haircut and wearing glasses and a boy's outfit.  Ryu tells him he has classes starting tomorrow at 9 AM and not to be late.

Jean falls asleep and when he wakes up he's late for class.  He trips and falls and his nose starts bleeding (what a way to make a first impression) and everyone starts laughing at him.  After class he gets picked on by Joseph's henchmen but Saul saves him.  They go to have lunch in the cafeteria when the "Golden Boys" (Joseph and Ryu) both see him and turn around and take off.  They both have a conversation outside and Joseph asks Ryu, "why is he here?"  Ryu replies back, "for his own protection".  Both go back to the cafeteria where Joseph harasses Jean.

Also during Jean's adventures he pretends to be Saul's girlfriend to divert his would be stalker, he's hung out the window twice (once on the 4th floor where Ryu saves him and the other on the 6th floor where he hurts himself but heals), he becomes friendly with Saul's would be stalker and her twin brother, Ryu announces to everyone Jean is his roommate and he is under his protection and he would hurt anyone that messes with him, Jean manages to paralyze Joseph in his girl persona and beat up his bodyguards and by the end Joseph decides he wants Jean by his side forever.

My Review:


In Vol. 1 when we first met Ryu we see him staggering and stumbling around dripping blood when he finally collapses.  People are staring at him when finally a group of friends check on him and realize he is dead with no heartbeat.  They call the police and when they arrive Ryu suddenly rises up and runs home.  He takes a shower when he realizes he has turned into a girl and freaks out.

In Vol. 2 we find out what happened to Ryu and the circumstances that lead up to that night (he was bitten by a vampire).  We learn a little backstory when Ryu was young and he used to be beaten up by bullies because they thought he was a girl.  He was rescued Sang Yang who paid for his tae-kwon do classes to teach him to protect himself.  In the present day we find out that Ryu is the chief of the local gang and that is how he meet Rei Parks his first in command.  Rei tells him there is a serial killer killing teen age girls near a popular hangout and other gang members are being beaten up.

His friend Sang ask Ryu to pretend to be his girlfriend to help him get rid of a persistent suitor.  She wants to proof that Ryu and Sang are together or else she will steal him away.  This part was very funny because Ryu put on a wig and even kissed Sang because he was all worked up.

We are also introduced to important vampire characters and a legend about a vampire and a human women.

I was laughing every time Ryu got hit on and his reaction to the situations (he loves to beat up people who mistake him for a girl and he would start stripping by taking off his T-shirt to prove he's a guy).

I highly recommend this gender bending comedy manhwa if you like vampires with personalities and try to kill each other.
