Like her son, Asahi Rokujou was once the Nabari no Ou, ruler of the Hidden World. And ten years ago, a torrent of greed and madness surged through the shinobi realm, with her at the center of the chaos; the memories of the events that came to pass that one fateful day then vanished from the minds of all involved. However, one man - Tobari Durendal Kumohira - retains what was forgotten a decade earlier.  The cruel truth he finally shares with Miharu will be the last step on the stairway the new ruler must ascend to assume his throne.

I hate to admit but I got lost in this volume but it was nice to find out what happened ten years ago.

My Review:

Yoite and Miharu are still on the run when they are attacked by the deadly twins again.  Yoite and they fight and Yoite is hurt badly (he has used too much Kisa) but is saved by Raimei and Koichi.  Raimei and Koichi engage in fighting the twins which allows Yoite and Miharu escape.  They go to Hanabasa Seki house and follow her to her house.  She invites them in for refreshments and comments that Yoite is wearing the scarf she made him.  She says she will make one for Miharu too.

Meanwhile Yukimi is fighting Raiko and gets the upperhand over him.  Raiko tells Yukimi what Yoite plans to do and where he is headed.  Yukimi manages to overpower Raiko and leaves but Raiko manages to follow him.

Those two deadly twins find Yoite and Miharu and finally corners them.  They are beating Yoite and when they finally look up they see Yukimi and he shoots them.  Yukimi tells Miharu to leave with Yoite while he deals with the two deadly assassins.  They take off while Yukimi fights both the assassins.  He manages to seriously hurt both of them but he is stabbed in the chest and is almost dying.

Miharu is kidnapped by the Grey Wolves and brought back to a cabin where the leader tells him what he plans.  Yoite manages to save him and they are reunited.  Yoite realizes that he is alive because there are people who care about him (he dies happy and satisfied)  and Miharu grants Yoite his final wish and that is to erase everyone's memories of him.

Meanwhile Raiko defects from the Grey Wolves with Gau by his side.  We learn a little bit about their past and they manage to escape.

Then we see Miharu waking up after a months rest remembering Yoite and he is living in secrecy.
