I've finished "Tall, Dark and Vampire" by Sara Humphreys.

My Review:

Marianna Coltari is a party girl who is an unmated pureblood Amoveo.  She doesn't anything to do with the war that took her father away from her but it consumes her brother Dante.

Dante has asked his friend Pete Castro a retired cop to look out for his sister Marianna.  She is targeted by one of their enemy clans so she has to run away to cabin with Pete where they finally give into their attraction.

Marianna is a character that you have to warm up to since she marches to her own tune.  She doesn't like to listen to anyone except her friend Olivia a vampire.  She's very stubborn and head strong.

Pete is such a great character because he's level headed, fair, good-looking, smart and generally a nice guy.  You can sense how much he wanted to protect Marianna and keep her safe.

My Review:

William Fleury is a tuxedo wearing attorney for the Amoveo Council and he's always in control.  He's cold, calculating and his friends go to him when they are in great need.

Layla Nickelsen has been raised in foster care since she was 12 years old and she has major trust issues.  She is quite loyal to her family which consists of her foster mom Rosie and her two twin siblings Raife and Tati.  They all knew they were Amoveo but didn't have anyone to teach them or who they are except for a secret diary left to the two twin siblings and who happens to be Rosie's sister.  Layla is determined to live her own life and not to be forced to mate with a man by fate.

William is determined to claim his mate but he has to first convince her they are a perfect match.  While trying to convince Layla he discovers a plot that could destroy his future.

It was really interesting to learn more about the Amoveo culture and to see the cold and calculating William fall for Layla and the hoops he had to do to convince her they are fated.

My Review:

Kerry Smithson an empath doesn't like to be touched because it triggers great pain and she get flashes into the deep and dark secrets of the souls she touches.  She's a world fashion supermodel and has suffered from this curse since childhood which has alienated her from her adoptive parents because she would run away screaming.  She doesn't know she's a half-breed since one of her real parents is Amoveo.

She has been receiving death threats so her best friend Samantha and her husband Malcolm hire Dante Coltari (Malcolm's best friend) head of Inferno Securities and a fox clan Amoveo as her bodyguard.  Dante knows Kerry's his lifemate and will make sure nothing hurts her.

This book was very enjoyable with an interesting storyline, characters with a surprising villain.

I just didn't like how Kerry treated Dante at first.

My Review:

When Samantha fails as an artist in New York she decides to move back home and live with her Nonie.  Her ex-boyfriend Roger accosts her and then something happens and he runs screaming.

When she arrives home she notices Malcolm her dreamy next door neighbor.  Soon he is explaining to her about her heritage that she is part Amoveo a race of shapeshifters.  She's the last of the Wolf clan and she can turn into a black wolf.  She's also his mate!  She doesn't believe him at first but as she witnesses strange happens she starts to believe.

Malcolm is the last of the Eagle clan and he has waited for Samantha to come back home.  He has always known she was his fated Mate since they have connected in their dreams.  He needs to bond with her because without his mate he is slowly losing his powers.

We also learn of the Caedo family who have hunted the Amoveo since the end of time and were the ones who killed Samantha's parents in cold blood.

I really liked how Malcolm was patient with Samantha to accept her heritage and as his mate.  Glad he didn't force the issue and he took her feelings in consideration.

Loved learning about the Amoveo legend and I can't wait till Untouched comes out next year!
