Contemp Review: Slow Ride (Fast Track) [Paperback]
I've finished "Slow Ride" the 5th book in her Fast Track series by Erin McCarthy.
As a tribute to her late journalist father, Tuesday Jones is planning a career benefit, auctioning off racing memorabilia and meet - and - greets with drivers. Ex-racing star Diesel Lange has had his own brush with death, and is determined not to waste another minute of his life - especially when he meets Tuesday. He wants nothing more than to shift their romance into high gear, but he knows she's still grieving. Can Diesel do the one thing he could never do on the track and take it slow?

My Review:
Tuesday Jones knows all about the racing track world. Her dad was a very respectful racing track journalist and she has her own Tuesday Talladega racing gossip blog. She is devastated when her dad dies from cancer six months after being diagnosed and turns to drinking to numb her pain. At her father's funeral ex-driver Daniel Diesel Lange comforts and sympathizes with her. Four weeks later she bumps into him again at her best friend's wedding.
Two years ago Diesel was a top racing car driver but that all came to a crashing halt when his car crashed into a wall and he almost died. He now lives a normal life and keeping to himself. He finds it hard to meet women until he meets Tuesday.
The chemistry between them is extremely hot and the love scenes are steamy and sexy. I didn't really like Tuesday because most of the time she is drunk and says and does stuff she normally wouldn't do if she were sane. She is quite rude and brass.
Diesel is a sexy alpha male but I wish he got Tuesday some help with her drinking.
3/5

The Chase (Fast Track) [Paperback]
I've finished "The Chase" the 4th book in her Fast Track series by Erin McCarthy.
Product Description
Kendall Holbrook is determined to make it to the top, even with the challenge of being a woman on the male-dominated racing circuit. She doesn't have time for romance-especially not with racing rival Evan Monroe, the man who nearly crushed her dream years ago. Tricked into meeting him, Kendall is experiencing all those old feelings again-and she can't deny that they still have enough chemistry to set fire to the track.

My Review:
Kendall Holbrook and Evan Monroe were 19 and in love until a petty misunderstanding broke them up. They cross paths 10 years later, both now as stock car drivers; Kendall is on the rise but has insecurities being a female in a male dominated sport and Evan is having a really bad time on the track, causing him to lose sponsorship.
I thought the reason why they broke up was kind of silly (he laughed at something she said)!
I really liked how they talked through the conflict and got it sorted out and reconnected again. Wow were the love scenes scorching hot!
At the end Evan is thrown a curveball the woman he slept with 5 months ago texts him she is pregnant with his child and needs financial, emotional and physical help. When I read this I thought gross unprotected sex with a stranger (he was drunk at the time but still). I hope this conflict is resolved in the next book!

Hot Finish (Fast Track) [Paperback]
I've finished "Hot Finish" the 3rd book in her Fast Track series by Erin McCarthy.
Product Description
Desire is about to reach its peak.
Suzanne Jefferson is broke, which is why she's given up charity work for wedding planning. Fortunately, she has a high-profile client-and best of all, he's paid in advance. There are just two teensy problems: the bride is a bona fide bridezilla, and Suzanne's stock racer ex- husband is the best man. At least she though he was her ex-husband...

My Review:
Suzanne has some major emotional problems that she has not dealt with and all she did was sprout insulting sarcasm towards Ryder. She was quite immature in this book because she would lash out without trying to reason out a solution to a problem.
Ryder is hot and sexy but was too passive and laid back and I'm wondering why he would love a women like Suzanne?
In the earlier books I did like Ryder and Suzanne though!

Hard and Fast (Paperback)
I've just finished reading "Fast and Hard" the 2nd book in her NASCAR series by Erin McCarthy.
Product Description
The sequel to Flat-Out Sexy, starring a bad boy race car driver hero who’s met his match—from a hot USA Today bestselling author.
Grad student Imogen Wilson realizes she’s hit on the perfect thesis for her sociology degree. If she follows the so-called “rules” on how to get a man, can she steer her way into the world and hearts of stock race car drivers, and establish their dating— and mating—patterns?
Although sexy and reckless racer Ty McCordle is the ideal test subject, Imogen knows that for the sake of science, she can’t give in to her growing attraction for him. Yet he’s the one who’s chasing after her, and Imogen realizes that she actually wants to be caught. A southern gentleman like Ty will satisfy all her curiosity—and make all the risks worthwhile…
My review:
Wow is the sex scenes hot and some of the thing Imogen does I wouldn't think she would.
I enjoyed reading this book though I did enjoy Flat-Out Sexy more and I liked the relationship better too.
