Anime Review: Inu x Boku SS Episode 8

This episode opens with Ririchou making coffee and thinking about how invite Soushi for coffee.

The we see Soushi has finished cleaning Ririchou's shoe outside the school gates while everyone is staring at them. Soushi insists on waiting for Ririchou after she’s done with school while keeping an eye on her 24/7.  Ririchou wants to be in her classroom on time but then Soushi saves her from an accidental flying baseball.

The we see Watanuki behaving like a true "delinquent" (by helping a girl pick up her handkerchief she dropped, giving back the extra 10 yen the canteen vendor accidentally gave him and raising up his hand first to answer a teacher’s question during Math class) and Karuta’s appetite are shown to pass the time during school hours.

Ririchiyo is still trying to figure out how to repay Soushi for his selfless acts after her own unsuccessful attempts.  Then school is over and Soushi’s on time to pick his Ririchou but he has no idea what to do and where to go as he asked Ririchiyo before she goes to her classes.

Then Ririchiyo thinks back about a conversation during lunchtime and the three youkais meet on the rooftop to have lunch together while complimenting each others bentos about how they look and smell delicious. Ririchou denies enjoying lunch with two strange people and while in bed later on keeps thinking of Soushi’s behavior in her enjoying the company of others and wanting to know more of his SS.

Then it's the next day and Ririchiyo, Watanuki and Karuta have lunch together again with Ririchiyo organizing it. Karuta comments on how food tastes better and having friendships with others.  Ririchiyo replies back that people let their guard down as they eat. Which gives Ririchiyo an idea reward Soushi. Bingo.


After a successfully making the best cup of coffee for Soushi we see Ririchiyo sitting in front of her desk and thinking of best scenarios to lure Soushi into letting him try her cup of coffee. All the scenarios Ririchichou comes up with results in how either her or Soushi would react and then spents the entire night trying to come up with a solution. Ririchou has no plans and then we see her meeting Soushi and attempting to ask him to have a cup of coffee with her. Instead she tells Soushi to bring her a bowl of corn potage soup.

Attempt #1: EPIC FAIL. Once Ririchou gets her soup attempts to again inform Soushi of drinking her coffee. Karuta interrupts at that moment and asks Ririchou to have a slice of her fruit and then see everyone else in the cafeteria doing the same.  It becomes quite noisy and Ririchou can’t have a private moment with Soushi.

Attempt #2: Ends in failure due to a minor interruption. Outside the school gates, Ririchiyo tries once again but Karuta pulls her to school so that they won’t be late for class.

Attempt #3: Karuta manages to interrupt!

Ririchiyo decides and plans to finally get Soushi try her coffee.

Meanwhile at the mansion Ririchou witnesses the interaction between Nobara, Renshou and Watanuki and Natsume and realizes there is no such intimacy between Soushi and her. Then we see her returning to her room and she sees a tree we have seen before which is the spot where Ririchiyo and Soushi began their relationship between master and servant.

Ririchou asked Soushi to meet her under the tree while he comments on Ririchou’s strange behavior as of late and asks her if he’s not doing anything up to her standards. Ririchou tells him he’s been doing fine and is relieved that he still cares about her.  Then Soushi mentions all the unusual things she has done over the past few days (wearing the left shoe first instead of the right shoe like she always does, putting sugar on her coffee instead of the cream first and having lunch after sending Watanuki to the hell and back).

Ririchou wants Soushi to have the same standing as she has, not wanting him to keep anymore secrets from her and to be the mysterious masked hero who saves her. He admits that he like Ririchou, he has problems communicating to others normally which draws them both closer.   Then Ririchou invites her Soushi to taste her coffee she’d made herself. He accepts and it looks like Ririchou has been trying to help Soushi to up to the rest of the mansion residents.

Anime Review: Inu x Boku SS Episode 4

This episode opens with two new characters one named Watanuki practising his kung-fu skills while a red haired guy with bunny ears is telling him to take it easy.  Watanuki tells him to shut up and that he needs to sharpen his skills because he's not that good right now and he will beat a certain person.  The bunny guy starts sprouting what a nice day it is and it makes him want to go out and do something.  Watanuki is yelling in the background saying "you always do this."


Then we see Ririchou and Soushi saying good morning to each other.  Ririchou is thinking about last night when she made the contract with Soushi again to be her SS agent and she is embarrassed.  Soushi says he is so happy when she made the contract with him and he can be at her side again.  He also says it brings so much sorrow when he takes her to school.  It's like divine punishment and she replies back it's just not school but anywhere she goes.  He replies back you're right and it makes him more sadder.  Then he asks her if he could hold her hand all the way and she replies sure.  They start walking.

Then it's nighttime and we see Ririchou in the swimming pool and thinking about how her heart rate has been irregular since this morning.  Then she walks to the where the vending machines are and she looks at her phone.  She has a message from Soushi thanking her for sending him her kind messages.  She thinks about her heart rate again and she needs to take care of her health.

Then she looks towards the vending machines and see Watanuki getting a drink.  They look at each other and then he comes over and asks her what she is looking at.  She replies back that he was looking at her first and he replies stop staring at me.  Then she replies back you first and then they have a staring contest until both their eyes hurt.  Then he turns around and says you're that fox spirits partner aren't you?  You're attitude stinks!  She says "huh".  Then he starts introducing himself as Banri Watanuki, Room #1 and I'm a "delinquent"!  Ririchou replies back you say that like you are proud of it and then she introduces herself as Ririchou Shirakin Room #4.  Then he says another someone who won't take me seriously because .... I'm a tiny tanuki and changes into a racoon?  Ririchou says you transformed for me that is kind of you.  He says shut up and I only transformed because I'm unstable".  What of it?  Just because I look like this doesn't mean I can't hurt you!  What are you doing?  I'm going to feed you a knuckle, etc.

Then bunny guy grabs Watanuki and says that's no way to speak to a lady.  Then he says hello to Ririchou and says it's so nice to meet you!  Then he introduces himself as Zange Natsume I'm Watanuki's Secret Service Agent.  Then he shows some pictures of himself when he was younger and starts explaining his childhood, etc.  He also mentions he sees things he doesn't want to know and then he mentions he knows stuff about Ririchou about her past and future.  He also says he knows what is causing her irregular heartbeats.  Then he says if you win tomorrows match he would explain everything.

Watanuki says he's come back to challenge that fox spirit and Zange grabs him again and tosses him over his shoulder while calling him Rascal.  Watanuki says he's name isn't Rascal and they leave.

Then it's morning and Soushi is saying good morning to Ririchou and complimenting her again.  She replies they don't have time for that and asks about the match.  Soushi says what match and then we hear Zange saying Sou baby.  Zange comes running and starts hugging Soushi and saying how happy he is to see him.  He also greets Ririchou and she says you know each other.  Zange says they are childhood friends and Soushi greets Zange and bows to him.

We see Nobaru in the background reading a magazine and she says two guys how gross.  Renshou is also there and he says different strokes for different folks while staring at the cover of her magazine.

Then Soushi explains that Natsume was his old master's friend and he treated him so kindly.  Natsume asks Soushi to do him.  Then we see Watanuki and he says stop consorting with the enemy.  It's been awhile nine-tailed fox.  This meeting means your end nemesis and then Soushi bows to him and says it's been awhile.  Natsume says he's also a childhood friend but Watanuki says no we're not friends you just bullied me but that was fine.  Then we find out why Watanuki is so mad at Soushi just because he called him cute.  Watanuki says that was when his reputation was tarnished.  Soushi apologizes but Watanuki says it's too late.  Natsume interrupts and explains the rules of the match.  Whoever gathers the most signatures and returns back is the winner.

Then Ririchou and Soushi have a conversation that she is already involved.  Nobaru then says she would be Soushi's ally but in exchange could she slip a finger under her knee highs and feel her thigh.  Ririchou agrees to let her do that if she does it a little.  Nobaru gets a major nose bleed and says she will sign anything she wants.

Then we see a bartender and he says his name is Joe and he's a wolf in a bar with a kid.  The kid says this isn't a bar dad.  Ririchou asks for a signature and he asks is it dangerous he could handle it.  Then he tells her to come back when she grows up and he would make her a drink.  The kid tells his dad to please grate the radishes.

Then we see Ririchou and Soushi saying they got his signature.  Then they almost step onto a maid that transforms into a small person.  They get her signature then we see Maid #2 who is a guy in disguise and says he won't sign because he thinks they are suspicious but Soushi charms him.  They meet Maid #3 another guy in disguise who has mask on.  Then we meet the Concierge and Ririchou thought he should trade places with Soushi.  The Concierge guys rams his face into a mirror and Soushi explains he's an introverted person and they say he's a very shy person.  Then Ririchou says Roromiya is the last signature to get.  They go in search for her when they reach the ladies only room.  Ririchou goes in and sees two of the girls taking a bath and she gets embarrassed.  She leaves and sees Roromiya outside and is about to get her signature when she sees Watanuki.

Then we hear and see Natsume calling Soushi and saying he's so manly.  Then he says they should be quiet because he would be embarrassed to see them spying on him.  Watanuki asks Roromiya to sign and she says okay.  Natsumi explains that he asked Karuta to wait there.  Watanuki thanks her and she says he was gone so long and she was worried.  He says he's sorry and he brought her a present - maple bean cakes from Hiroshima.  Then Natsume explains that Watanuki was worried about talking to Karuta and that he was training to protect the girl he loves.  Ririchou says that is the reason for the match.

Natsume says that's not the only reason and he walks over and starts whispering into her ear.  He said I can see all of you and you should interact with more people.  You said until I can properly interact with other people. But that's a skill that can only be learned by hurting and being hurt by others.  Then he says he's everyone's older brother and he wants to be closer to Soushi.

Then Ririchou and Soushi are in the elevator having a conversation and he reveals that he is jealous and wants to know what Natsume and her were talking about.  He takes her hand and kisses it but she says too close and runs backwards.  She falls and then we see her in her bedroom. She looks in the dictionary to find out what causes irregular heartbeats.
