Question of the Week:

What was the last book that kept you up late into the night just to finish and got you all worked up in the process? (You know what I'm talking about *wink*)

My Answer:

"Lover At Last" (The Black Dagger Brotherhood #11) by J.R. Ward. I've been waiting for Qhuinn and Blay's book for like forever to be released.  I stayed up all night just to try to finish this book and didn't wake up until late morning (still was exhausted when I woke up, LOL but it was worth it!).

Loved the drama between Qhuinn and Blay and especially their love scenes (so hot)!  Now I'm eagerly waiting for "The King" to read about their mating ceremony.

Question of the Week: Judging a book by it's cover. We've all done it. But have you ever judged a book wrongly based on it's cover? What book have you loved that based on the cover, wouldn't have normally picked up? What book have you read, based on the cover alone, that disappointed you?

I wouldn't normally pick up this book based on the cover because naked woman in chains doesn't do it for me and it makes me think of an ADULT BOOK!

I was really pleasantly surprised I really enjoyed this book other than certain parts the story was interesting and my favorite guy was in it (nope it's not Micah or Jean-Claude)

Here's my disappointment based on the cover (Meet Me at the Cupcake Cafe by Jenny Colgan):

I was so disappointed that this was a DNF book because the cover made me hungry for cupcakes, I like cupcakes and I always enjoy checking out recipes.

The story was lacking something and the it wasn't very funny or engaging.

Question of the Week: What's your favorite time period for your fictional fantasy men? Do you drool over a Scottish Highlander in his kilt swinging his... err... claymore? Do you want a bodice ripper to scandalize you before the ton? Maybe a modern day Commando to sweep you off your feet and then tie you up in creative ways? Or perhaps a futuristic space pirate to kidnap you away from Earth and tempt you with all of his unknown alien bedroom secrets? *eyebrow wiggle*

My favorite time period for my fictional fantasy man is during the Victorian era with a bodice ripper than will scandalize you before the ton (though I shudder at wearing a corset during this era).  Though I do like my modern men too!

Question of the Week: New Adult Romance. Can't get enough? Tired of seeing it everywhere? or Undecided?

I haven't read any New Adult Romances yet but I'm glad there is a new genre because they seem more darker and have more adult like story lines (I don't read much YA).

Question of the Week:

What's your favorite way to beat the heat? With a light and humorous romance? A book set in the chilly north or maybe a Christmas in July special? Or is hotter better, do you crank up the heat with a sexy romance?

My Answer:

My favorite way to beat the heat is to read a hot book (the hotter the better).

Question of the Week: Who is your current hero? Find an image that represents the sexy hero in the book that you are currently reading and share him with us!

Lucas Davenport and Kidd from Silken Prey by John Sandford.

Hmm I can't seem to find pictures of anyone that remotely looks like Lucas or Kidd, sorry everyone!  Lucas is 49 years old, intimidating with a scar on his face and one on his throat.  Kidd is 50 years old, use to be a wrestler and a couple inches shorter than Lucas and is pretty intimidating himself.

I wouldn't say that I love or hate cliffhangers or commit bookicide aftwards (LOL)!

It depends on the series I don't mind cliffhangers but if it's a favorite series of mine I'm disappointed but I anticipate the next books release.

Following each blog is not mandatory but I know it is always appreciated, and if someone comments saying they’re a new follower it’s polite to follow back. It’s always nice to spread the 18 and Over Book Blog love!

Question of the Week: What were your favorite reads in March and what books are you most looking forward to in April?

Lover At Last: A Novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood [Hardcover]

Definitely should be on everyone's favorite list!  I was really curious how J.R. Ward would carry off Qhuinn's and Blay's HEA and the sex scenes (totally hot, passionate, rough and steamy).  I was very happy when got to the end of the story but I wasn't crying (LOL!)

Kiss Me, Kill Me: A Novel of Suspense [Mass Market Paperback]

I really liked how the relationship between Lucy and Sean has deepened.  They support and love each other and Sean includes Lucy in his investigation when she finds out she wasn't accepted into the FBI.

Alex Cross, Run [Hardcover]

All the villains were deliciously psychotic and I really liked the inventive crime scenes.

Question of the Week: Is there such a thing as too much sex in a book?

No not really but sometimes there is too much sex if it's senseless and it's totally out of character.

Question of the Week:  Does a book have to have kink of some kind (BDSM, ect.) to get you hot? Or will detailed vanilla love scenes work just as good?

Though some kink scenes are pretty steamy a well written vanilla love scene is just as good.
