ARC Review: Deliver Me from Temptation: A Novel of the Paladin Warriors [Mass Market Paperback]
I've finished "Deliver Me from Temptation" the 2nd book in her Paladin Warrior series by Tes Hilaire.
Product Description
Logan Screwed Up ... Big Time
When things go bump in the night, Logan bumps back. Vampires, demons, succubi — you name it, he's fought it. His job as Paladin angel warrior is to protect humans. Not fall for one.
She Never Believed in Divine Intervention ... Until Now
Detective Jessica Waters protects humans too - with her Glock and a good set of handcuffs. She doesn't believe in fate. But if anyone looks like a gift from the gods, it's Logan. And he clearly knows more about her case than he's letting on.
About the Author
Daphne Award-winning author and former Tennessee native Tes Hilaire doesn't remember how old she was when she wrote her first story, but she's pretty sure it had something to do with a boy and a girl and a happily every after. Displaced at an early age to "the north country," her stories turned darker as she started creating whole new worlds to escape the harsh, upstate NY winters. Now back in the South, her stories remain edgy, exciting, and bring a hint of dark fantasy to paranormal romance. Best of all, no one ever has to shovel snow. My Review:
Logan is a Paladin warrior and is next in line to be their leader. Logan and his father don't see eye to eye because Logan knows you can't judge a person as good or evil. Logan sees that when a Paladin is turned against his will their not evil but his father doesn't.
Jessica Waters is a cop and her motto is to make sure to put the bad guys in jail. Ever since her twin sister was murdered she has made this her main goal. She sees things like Logan's dad you are either a criminal or you not. This causes problems between her and Logan since he can't explain the strange events happening around them. Besides she won't believe him.
I really enjoyed the romantic aspect between Logan a Paladin and Jessica a human (I was wondering how they would overcome the obstacles to be together and if she would finally accept what is happening around them).
Valin is up to his old mischievous/tricks again and he happens to know who his mate is (she disappeared at the end of the 1st book).
3.5/5

ARC Review: Deliver Me from Darkness: A Novel of the Paladin Warriors [Mass Market Paperback]
I've finished "Deliver Me from Darkness" the 1st book in her Paladin Warriors series by Tes Hilaire.
Product Description
A STRANGER IN THE NIGHT ...
He had once been a warrior of the Light, one of the revered Paladin. A protector. But now he lives in darkness, and the shadows are his sanctuary. Every day is a struggle to overcome the bloodlust. Especially the day Karissa shows up at his doorstep.
COMES KNOCKING ON THE DOOR
She is light and bright and everything beautiful — despite her scratches and torn clothes. Every creature of the night is after her. So is every male Paladin. Because Karissa is the last female of their kind. But she is his. He may not have a soul, but he can't deny his heart.

My Review:
Roland was a former Paladin Warrior but is now a vampire though his clan wants nothing to do with him. His best friend Logan who is a Paladin spared him even though his orders were to kill Roland. He could see the good in Roland because he doesn't have the urge to kill humans. He's thinks Logan is crazy for bringing a human women to his home for protection.
Karissa is the last female Paladin who is the on the run when she collapses at Logan's doorsteps. Her grandfather has always told her if something happened to him to go to Logan for help. She wakes up in Roland's home and is at first frightened by him even though she is attracted to him.
Even though Paladins are suppose to be good they weren't really like that with Karissa they wanted to keep her under lock and key and mate with her.
I didn't really like Karissa that much because of her personality, the way she treated Roland's home when she mistrusted him and then when she changed her mind to trust him. I thought Roland was okay. I really like Logan, Valin and Gabrielle. There looks like a set up for the next romance between Valin and Gabrielle and I can't wait!
