Follow My Blog Friday #142

If you are new to the FF fun, Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday is now hosted by TWO hosts, myself of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

Now to make this FF interesting we do a FEATURE blogger. If you are interested in becoming a Feature click on the drop down link above FEATURES and Features and Follow Friday and get on the waiting list!  It is also required, that if you participate you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee and Alison Can Read) and the two Feature blogs.

This Meme is hosted by Rachel from Parajunkee's View and Alison from Alison Can Read on Fridays.

To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:

1.  (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee and Alison Can Read}

2.  (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers

3.  Put your Blog name and URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.

4.  Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.

5.  If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn’t have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed

6.  Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”

7.  If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love … and the followers

8.  If you’re new to the follow Friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!

Our Feature is blogger Megan @ Book Worm in Love

When did you start blogging?

Around this time last year.

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

I love sharing my love of books with people who get it. I used to share with my friends and they just didn’t understand a lot of the time, so getting to talk to all these other bloggers who do understand is really awesome! I love getting comments on reviews that say things like, “I think I would really like this book, great review!” Everyone is so supportive all the time, and I’ve never gotten any mean comments on my blog (maybe I haven’t been around long enough, but I like to think that’s not the case).

What type of books do you mainly blog about?

I blog about YA books usually, though I sometimes dip into MG every so often. I always look for YA romances, because that’s what I love. Typically, I read YA paranormal romance, but I do love contemporary, too (I am addicted to Sarah Dessen!).

What is your favorite book(s)?

My very favorite is the Mara Dyer series, and not just because I’m in love with Noah Shaw. I’ve forced all of my friends to read it, and I’ve read The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer at least three times, not including all the times I just go back and reread my favorite parts. I love Michelle Hodkin’s writing style, with all the allusions and such (a whale named Lolita…). And the characters are funny and dark.

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

I went to this book signing a month or two back and met Victoria Schwab, Megan Shepherd, Lenore Appelhans, Beth Revis, and Meagan Spooner. I was talking to Megan Shepherd about my blog, and Victoria was sitting next to her signing books, and she pops up with “I know your blog!” and that was literally the greatest thing EVER.

Our Feature - Book Cupid

1. When did you start blogging?

I started blogging last December. Kept pushing the idea away saying I have no idea how to run a blog. But I still gave it shot and don't regret it one bit.

2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?

Fellow bloggers!! It is so refreshing to comment with other readers. I was getting tired of talking to myself about Jace Wayland.

3. What type of books do you mainly blog about?

I blog about YA and Middle-Grade books.

4. What is your favorite book(s)?

The Harry Potter series, Vampire Academy, The Gathering, Divergent... (we're going to run out of space)

5. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

Chatting up with Indie authors like Jen Minkman and T. Rae Mitchell. As a writer it encourages me to see that hard work does pay off in the end.

Q: Have you ever read a book that you thought you would hate -- ? Did you end up hating it? Did you end up loving it? Or would you never do that?

Lover At Last: A Novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood [Hardcover]

I don't really read M/M books so I was kind of squirmy about reading this one.  I was really curious how J.R. Ward would carry off Qhuinn's and Blay's HEA and the sex scenes (totally hot, passionate, rough and steamy).  I was very happy when I got to the end of the book and have gone back to re-read the love scenes.

Hot Target- Suzanne Brockmann [Mass Market Paperback]

I usually don't read M/M books and this one is my first.  I was really happy by the end of the book though I was squirming when I read the part about Robin and Adam (they really grossed me out).

Haha, I'm actually the exact opposite when it comes to Qhuinn and Blay's book. I do enjoy M/M, but I started to dislike the series a lot in the last few months/years, so even though I was rooting for them, I don't think I'll manage to read and enjoy this title. Might give it a try regardless of that, though. :D I heard that they didn't use lube the first time, though, which makes me wince to think about.
