Bound by Darkness: A Paladin Novel [Mass Market Paperback]

I've finished "Bound by Darkness" the 7th book in her Paladin series by Alexis Morgan.

Product Description

Caught between two worlds, a powerful warrior must choose between impossible destinies when he meets a woman whose love will either make or break him. . . .

As the daughter of a Regent, Sasha has long known about the secret underworld of the Paladins and their work protecting her kind from the dark forces on the other side of the energy barrier. So when she is sent on her first solo investigation, on the path to becoming the first female Regent, she is determined to get the Seattle Paladins in line. Offering sanctuary to their Kalith enemies is simply unacceptable! But when she meets Larem, she is inexorably drawn to a dark and valiant warrior who is not at all what he appears to be. As the power struggle between Regents and Paladins rages on, someone starts making attacks on her life. Sasha must choose between loyalty to her own kind and the warrior she loves . . . with the very fate of humanity hanging in the balance.

My Review:
Larem is Kalith or some may call him Other. He was a a blade mate to Sworn Guardian Lasahn. He crossed over to avoid death. He has lived among the Paladins teaching them to fight and befriended some of the Paladins..

Sasha Willis, the daughter of a Regent is determined to break the gender barrier by becoming the first female Regent. She has been left with an ugly mess due to Kincaid's scheme. She is desperate to gain their trust and do a good job since she really wants to prove she can do the job. She is not welcomed at first but is fast in proving she is different then other Regents sent to the Paladins.

As Sasha and Larem become friends some of the Guards decide she is no good for their cause and she needs to be taken out along with the Kalith that don't belong in the human world.  They believe that they are no better then wild animals that need to be put down. As this secret group of guards plots and tries to kill the acting Regent Sasha, Larem is there to protect her and along the way fall in love.

This book had a lot of twists and turns and a betrayal that makes you wonder who you should trust and who you shouldn't!   This was a exciting and thrilling paranormal reading how Sasha first fears and then starts to trust and finally falling in love with Larem.

4/5
