My Review:

I highly recommend reading Deadly Fear before reading Deadly Lies because so you find out what happens to Samantha prior to this book.

In this series Cynthia doesn't shy away from the deeper and darker aspects and twisted views of her villians.  Also the crimes are nicely detailed to the crime crime scene to the victims bodies.

In Deadly Fear Samantha was caught by the killer who kills them by their deepest and darkest fears.  Sam is an FBI agent who is more comfortable tracking down killers at her desk then out in the field.  When Sam meets Max her plan was to have casual sex to feel like a more confident women.

Max wants more than a one night stand with Sam and they are forced to work together when his step-brother is kidnapped by the killer for ransom.

Wow I really liked it that you never knew who the real killer was because there were so many lies from Samantha, Max had his own agenda and his step-brother.

Woah the love scenes were very hot and steamy and there were quite a few!  I had to wash my face with cold water after reading this book!  I loved the way how Cynthia incorporated the love story with the killer story.

Glad to see Monica, Luke, Kenton and Ramirez again!

My Review:

Storyline:   Lora Spade calls in the special elite unit of the FBI Serial Services Division to help catch the serial arsonist.  She doesn't let anyone mess around with her people because she lost one she loves to the arsonist.  She pulls FBI Kenton Lake from a fire and she tangles with him even though she feels an undeniable attraction to him.  She fights it and Kenton doesn't let anyone near him either ever since he lost his mom at an early age.

Characters:  All the characters were well written so it feels like you know them in real life.  Lora is such a great character because she very kick-ass and knows how to fight and spar with anyone.  She doesn't need a man to complete her and take care of her.  Kenton is such a great hero because he's a ladies man but he falls for Lora which is a complete surprise to him (very protective and possessive).  He sees a vunerability in her which makes him want to take care of her.

Romance:  Wow the romance between Lora and Kenton were hot and steamy!  You can feel the heat from the very first moment that she pulls him from the fire.  I believe their verbal confrontations are foreplay and you can feel the heat coming off of the pages.

Killer:  Wow the killer is quite brutal in his killings and definately has no remorse at all.  Has a fascination with fires ever since childhood.  He killed his parents!

Deadly Fear [Mass Market Paperback]

I've finished "Deadly Fear" the 1st book in her Deadly trilogy by Cynthia Eden.

Product Description

TWO BRILLIANT AGENTS

FBI Special Agent Monica Davenport has made a career out of profiling serial killers. But getting inside the twisted minds of the cruel and the sadistic has taken its toll: She's walled herself off from the world. Yet Monica can't ignore fellow agent Luke Dante, the only man who ever broke through her defenses.

ONE DREAM TEAM

Luke has the unique ability to put victims at ease...professionally, he and Monica made a perfect team. Now they're reunited to catch a murderer who uses his victims' deepest, darkest fears for sport - but their investigative skills aren't enough. Luke and Monica will have to face the secrets from their past, the ones that terrify them the most, if they are to have a future together.

But can they catch a killer whose weapon is ... DEADLY FEAR

My Review:

I highly recommend reading this book if you love romantic suspense with great characters and a great storyline!

I don't want to spoil any spoilers!

Storyline:  I love romantic suspense with dark themes and this is one of them!  I find it interesting that both killers would do an in-depth investigation to find out their victims deep and darkest fears to get to them!

Characters:  Monica is a strong and confident heroine who can kick your ass (there is a reason why she is called the "Ice Queen"!) and who can really get into the minds of the killers.  Luke is a great hero because he's a man you would love to bring home to meet your mom and dad!  He courteous, smart and he treats Monica with love and respect, listens to what she says and doesn't push her too hard!

Romance:  I really enjoyed the romance between Monica and Luke because it was hot and steamy.  They both work well together in and out of bed!

Killer(s):  The original killer was quite smart, charming and sick!  His protegy is also smart, not very charming though and even more sicker than the original killer.  Both killers really do their research to find out what their victims's deepest and darkest fear(s) are!

But working alongside her may be the only way to stop a killer, even as it ignites a primal desire unlike anything he's known.

Holly has seen firsthand what Niol is capable of, but that doesn't frighten her nearly as much as her body's instinctive reaction to him, or the wild, fierce passion that would tempt her to follow him through hell itself. Something evil and relentless is prowling the streets of Atlanta. And as Holly's search leads her into danger that even Niol could never have predicted, she'll uncover a secret that could rip her world apart.
