I've finished "The Retribution of Mara Dyer" the 3rd book in her Mara Dyer Trilogy series by Michelle Hodkin.

My Review:

Glad to see we finally get to see answers regarding Mara, her grandmother, Jude, Dr. Kells, and the complicated connection between Noah and her.

Wow this book was a lot darker than the 2nd one because Mara character too a sharp turn and turned dark and extremely sadistic (might be more graphic than some people might like)!

Noah Shaw isn't seen until near the end when his role is revealed in this plot and also Mara's true nature.

My Review:

This book goes more in depth in the history of Mara and Noah's family history.  It was an interesting surprise to find out about Mara's grandmother having visions just like Mara.  I really felt for Mara because her family and everyone seems to think she is crazy or delusional except for Noah and Jamie.  Even at times I wasn't sure if events were even real or not and that is scary.

I'm really glad that her family is there to support, love her and want to help her get better even though they are scared of her at times.

The chemistry between Mara and Noah is even hotter in this book with the steamy dialogue between them.  Noah informs Mara here is there to support and take care of her.  He's more quiet and reserved in this one but near the end we catch a glimpse of a crack in his shell to the vulnerable boy inside.

My Review:

I have to admit that I don't really read YA but I'm so glad that I read this one.  This book should be read by for a mature teenager since there is references to sexual situations and foul language.

Wow what can I say about this book?  I loved it and Noah has a reputation of being a ladies man who can be such a smart ass and be snarky at times.  I really loved his scenes with Mara especially their snarky conversations and sizzling flirtations.  Also really loved how he wanted to show everyone that Mara was important to him and treated her right.  He sure had to work hard at it! He has a few deep and dark secrets himself which we learn later on in the book but you will have to read yourself.  He's smart, has a lovely British accent, cocky and confident, snarky at times and hunky.

Mara is a loner and doesn't remember the night her friends were killed.  She's traumatized and is suffering PTSD.  She's having visions of people she's met dying and then later finds out it's true.  She's hallucinating by seeing her friend's faces in mirrors and in crowds and hearing voices in her head.

The ending ends in a cliff hanger which is begging for a sequel!

I highly recommend reading this book if you like a psychological thriller with supernatural elements.
