RS Review: The Evil Inside (Krewe of Hunters, Book 4) [Mass Market Paperback]
I've finished "The Evil Inside" the 4th book in her Krewe of Hunters series by Heather Graham.
Product Description
Some deaths live on forever
For as long as it has stood overlooking New England's jagged coastline, Lexington House has been the witness to madness … and murder. But in recent years the inexplicable malice that once tormented so many has lain as silent as its victims. Until now …
A member of the nation's foremost paranormal forensic team, Jenna Duffy has made a career out of investigating the inexplicable. Yet nothing could prepare her for the string of slayings once again plaguing Lexington House — or for the chief suspect, a boy barely old enough to drive, much less kill.
With the young man's life on the line, Jenna must team up with attorney Samuel Hall to pinpoint who — or what — is taking the lives of those who get too close to the past. But everything they learn brings them closer to the forces of evil stalking this tortured ground.
About the Author

An avid scuba diver, ballroom dancer and mother of five, she still enjoys her south Florida home, but loves to travel as well, from locations such as Cairo, Egypt, to her own backyard, the Florida Keys. Reading, however, is the pastime she still loves best, and she is a member of many writing groups. She’s currently the vice president of the Horror Writers’ Association, and she’s also an active member of International Thriller Writers. She is very proud to be a Killerette in the Killer Thriller Band, along with many fellow novelists she greatly admires.

My Review:
Storyline: Sam Hill a lawyer almost runs over a young boy running onto the road covered in blood and in shock. He calls his old friend sheriff John Alden who tells him Malachi Smith lives in the Lexington House a legend in Salem and where many people have been killed since the 1600's. He also informs him that Malachi has hacked his whole family to death.
Jamie O'Neill Malachi's therapist doesn't believe Malachai is the killer so he asks his niece Jenna Duffy a member of a FBI special paranormal unit The Krewe of Hunters to investigate. He also recruits Sam Hill to defend Malachai pro bono. Jenna and Sam team up but they don't quite trust each other. Jenna knows that Sam doesn't believe her abilities or respect her and only thinks Sam is only looking for fame and fortune. As they investigate further they realize that Lexington House is the root of evil.
I really enjoyed learning about the Salem Witch Trials of 1692, the Puritans and the Wiccan religion.
Characters: Jenna has a temper, fiercely loyal, dedicated, smart and a great investigator.
Sam is hard working, smart, sexy, dedicated and a great lawyer.
Romance: I didn't really feel the romance in this book between Jenna and Sam because he didn't really respect her or her abilities. I felt the attraction between them though - even though they were at each other throats most of the time they interacted.
Killer: The killer was really crazy and psychotic. Didn't even blink an eye or have any remorse after any killings. Really enjoyed the thrill!
