My Review:
Nica Fraser asks shifter geneticist Susanna Duchamps to come to New Orleans and meet at the Cheveaux Du Chien shifter club. She owes the assassin a favor. Nica tells her she has a human friend who has been injured and doesn't have a chance to recover and another friend when she bonded with her shifter male his regenerative genes passed onto to her. Susanna is very excited with the new project but she's uncertain if she should proceed.
Jacques LaRoche is a shifter who happens to be Nica's boss and when he orders her to get back to the floor Susanna recognizes him as her shifter lover of long ago by his voice and scent. He doesn't remember who she is but knows what she is and it makes him upset. She disturbs him but he's extremely attracted to her which makes it worse.
Unknown to him he doesn't realize that he has a past with Susanna because his memories were erased brutally. Though he has obtained success and health he feels lost. He knows he has a mate somewhere but where? Susanna has a secret she doesn't want Jacques to know about.
This book was fast paced from the first page to last with a drool worthy hero and a take charge heroine who doesn't let anyone push her around. Wow there were some very tense highly charged scenes and some pretty hot love scenes.
