Product Description

All New from the #1 New York Times bestselling author.

As brutal as the undead he hunted, Zacarias De La Cruz was a master executioner. Now his stark and savage journey has ended. For his brothers, Zacarias had walked to the edge of madness, but with centuries as a killing machine now left to the past and without a hunt to define him, Zacarias wonders, for the first time in his life, who he really is.

The answer awaits him back home, in Peru, in the betrayal of a woman who is readying her trap, in the vengeance of an old enemy, in the inevitable consequences of a bloody family legacy - and in the deliverance of a lifemate he never could have imagined...

My Review:

This book is about Zacarias De La Cruz an ancient assassin the oldest of five De La Cruz brothers.  He's feared by all even his younger brothers and he has decided to end it all by returning to his ranch in Peru.  Instead he finds his lifemate Marguarita who saves him from the darkness.

Marguarita can't talk because her vocal cords was savagely attacked by a vampire and Zacarias discovers she is his lifemate.  He's not sure why she affects him so since she can't talk to him vocally.  As he interacts with her he starts to feel things but he doesn't trust her and thinks she is there to trap him.  Eventually he starts to see colors and realizes she is his lifemate and wants to protect her at all costs.

Zacarias reminded me of those long time ago Cavemen or even those men in the bodice ripper novels because in some scenes when he interacted with Marguarita he was quite brutal with her.

Glad to see that Marguarita is very determined and loyal to her friends and people she thought as family.  Pretty happy that she stood up to Zacarias and didn't let him push her around.  I thought she was really capable in taking care of herself and it was a delight when both she and Zacarias mind spoke to each other.

Hmm I wish that Zacarias got to fight along side his brothers against his long time enemy Ruslan or even the minor vampire enemies.

I have to admit it was more about Marguarita and Zacarias getting to know and living with each then actually action.

I really hated the enemies in this book!

4/5

This has to be my favorite paranormal series!! I can't wait to get my hands on Zacharias' book. In past books you see he is probably worse than Gregori (which is saying something since he is pretty bad) but I love how the heroines aren't afraid to stand up to them though...Great Review!!
