Follow My Blog Friday #110

If you are new to the FF fun, Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday is now hosted by TWO hosts, myself of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

Now to make this FF interesting we do a FEATURE blogger. If you are interested in becoming a Feature click on the drop down link above FEATURES and Features and Follow Friday and get on the waiting list!  It is also required, that if you participate you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee and Alison Can Read) and the two Feature blogs.

This Meme is hosted by Rachel from Parajunkee's View and Alison from Alison Can Read on Fridays.

To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:

1. Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Host {Parajunkee.com} {Alisoncanread.com}and any one else you want to follow on the list.

2. Follow our Featured Bloggers - Mandee @ Compelled by Words and The Bookshelf Review

3. Put your Blog name and URL in the Linky thing.

4. Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say hi in your comments

5. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can

6. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love ... and the followers

7. If your new to the Follow Friday Hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!

When did you start blogging?

Just this year, on my birthday! February 1st to be exact.

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

Meeting new people that share the same enthusiasm about books that I do. Every single person I’ve come across since I began blogging has been amazing. I have yet to experience a negative situation with an author, fellow blogger, or anyone else. This community is so tight that you feel like part of the family almost instantly. Sometimes people who read like we do are outcasts because others just don’t understand how we could love books so much. Not having many friends where I live has made me dependent on blogging to connect with those who “get me”. It’s a great feeling to be part of something like that.

What is your favorite book?

Ah, the ultimate question. It’s so hard to pick a favorite when there are just so many fantastic books out there. But I’ll go with the one that got me back into reading after high school was long over with. Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. If you know me at all, then you know I have an obsession with Japan. That book started it all. I would give anything to have lived in Japan in that era and the movie was done beautifully. If you haven’t read the book or seen the movie, I highly recommend it.

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

That would be having authors I adore actually take time out of their crazy schedules to read my reviews of their books. I knew that the more experienced bloggers got to work with famous authors on a daily basis, but I never in a million years imagined that little old me would get any sort of recognition just for writing a review that I wasn’t even asked to write. It’s pretty amazing!

Rachel, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of all this. I can’t tell you how much you’ve made my day. Blogging is the best decision I ever made and I plan to stick around for a long time so I hope you guys are ready!

The Bookshelf Review

1. When did you start blogging?

I started blogging a little bit over a year ago in June 2011. I just celebrated my One Year Blogoversary, so excited I have made it this long. The main reason I started blogging was because one of my friends did it a couple of months before I started. I really liked the look and feel of her blog so I emulated her and started doing it myself. Here is link to her blog if you want to check it out. She has some amazing reviews on her site. She was definitely my inspriation and I wouldn't be blogging if not for her.

2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?

My favorite part about blogging is being able to share my love of books with my followers and essentially everyone that stumbles across or visits my blog. It is amazing to be able to share and talk about books with many people that I don't know personally. I will always remember the experience that having a blog has brought to me.

3. What is your favorite book(s)?

I don't really have a favorite book specifically because there are too many amazing books out there to have just one. And really my favorite is almost always the one I have in my hand that I am currently reading. But here is a small list of some of my favorites: The Hunger Games Series by Suzanne Collins, Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling, Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth, Across the Universe Trilogy by Beth Revis and many, many more that would make this list way too long.

4. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

Tough Question. I can't really think of one specifically. But having authors come over to your blog and comment on your posts, appreciating what you do and acutally being able to talk to them personally is something I thought I would never be able to do. It really has meant a lot to me and is so awesome. Also having actual people care enough about my blog and think it is interesting enough to hit that follow button and to acutally be able to have support is so spectacular to me. When I started, never in a million years did I think I would be where I am today. So thanks to all who follow me and support me. And thanks to Follow Friday for playing a part in helping me gain new followers. =]

Q: What would you do over if you were to start your blog again from scratch?

I wish I would know more HTML so I could change my template but I'm afraid I will lose all my information.  I really would like a lighter template and I also wish I had a shorter blog name so I could have an RSS (my blog name is too long and it won't let me get one).  I need to network more too!

Bloggers and their titles. I'd also change title (not that it's long). I'm thinking of more interesting one.
Here's mine.
Happy Friday!

I used to have blogger and I am pretty sure you can save the way it looks right now and then try out a new one by testing it instead of confirming the change. They should allow you to preview any change you are about to make on the layout.

Happy Friday!

Hello, stopping by from the hop. new follower.
If I could start from scratch I would learn about designing first, like coding and what not.

That's my exact answer too! I definitely should have learned a bit more about blogger templates and HTML coding before starting. Love blogging but the actual blogging part wasn't easy to learn!

Have a lovely week :)
