Thank you Rocki for being here today in a Q/A, I greatly appreciate it!

Please take it away, Rocki!

1.  What are your books about?

First of all, thanks for inviting me to join you today. I’ve been a fan of this blog for a while and loved the reviews you’ve done on earlier books, so I’m delighted to be here. My latest romantic suspense, EDGE OF SIGHT, launches a new series called The Guardian Angelinos. This clan of a blended Italian cousins and siblings form an ad hoc security and investigation firm based in Boston. They don’t have a ton of money, but what they lack in cool technology and sophistication, they make up for in guts, intuition, and intelligence. Each book in the series is a stand alone romantic adventure, starting with EDGE OF SIGHT.

In that book, former Army Ranger Zach Angelino reluctantly accepts the first assignment for his family’s fledgling firm, protecting Harvard-bound law student Samantha Fairchild after she’s witnessed an assassination and is next on the hit man’s list. The problem? Sam and Zach are former lovers and he left her for a tour of duty in Iraq three years earlier, then never contacted her again. She’s not sure she can trust him. He’s not sure he can resist her. Now they are trying to crack a conspiracy that leads to Boston’s darkest corners of corruption and they must face their fears, desires and doubts before a professional killer takes his next shot.

2.  How much research do you use for your books?

A ton, and it starts before I begin the book and lasts until I write The End. I research everything from character occupations to settings to arcane and terrifying crimes. I would hate to have the FBI tracking the web sites I visit! I also develop relationships with professionals who help me, such as a Glock expert who makes sure I shoot straight, and my neighbor who is a former FBI agent and a great source of information for me. He can’t walk his dog without me asking about evidence files, titles, and protocol. Setting research for EDGE OF SIGHT was easy since I lived in Boston for eight years and used many familiar places as the setting for lots of scenes.

3.  Would you consider writing in another genre?

Absolutely! In fact, I’m writing a Young Adult novel right now, and would love to dip my toes into the women’s fiction market. The YA is “light” paranormal (no otherworld creatures, just a parallel universe) and is the closest I’ve ever come to true paranormal. I love to read other genres, though.

4.  What are some of your favorite authors or genres?

In paranormal, I’m a huge Kresley Cole fan, a writer I think is absolutely at the top of her game and shows no signs of slowing. I love to read YA of all kinds, and I gravitate to fun, lighthearted, sexy contemporaries by writers like Louisa Edwards and Carly Phillips. In my own genre, I’ve discovered some great writers lately like Leslie Parrish and Kate Brody, who write dark and thrilling romantic suspense.

5.  What's on your next to do list?

Right now, I’m very busy with the launch of the new series, getting the word out and responding to readers. Next I’ll write DON’T YOU WISH, the Young Adult novel that is so wonderfully different, I can’t wait to attack that story. I hope to write more Guardian Angelino books after that and am always listening to my muse when she gives me new characters and stories.

I want to be sure readers know they can enjoy a “freequel” (a free prequel) to EDGE OF SIGHT that is currently up in the Free Reads section of www.roxannestclaire.com. This short story gives readers a glimpse into Sam and Zach’s first meeting, their passionate affair, and the painful goodbye, and it introduces some of the characters in the Guardian Angelinos series. Enjoy! And we’re giving away some books here, so feel free to leave a question or comment and I’ll be popping in all day to respond!

Thank you!!

EDGE OF SIGHT

By Roxanne St. Claire

The killer she can't escape . . .

The heartbreak she can't forget . . .

The one man who can stop them both.

When Samantha Fairchild witnesses a murder in the wine cellar of the restaurant where she works, the Harvard-bound law student becomes the next target of a professional assassin. Desperate for protection the authorities won't provide, Sam seeks help from Vivi Angelino, an investigative reporter who recruits her brother, Zach, to protect Samantha. A Special Forces vet with the scars to prove he's equally fearless and flawed, Zach takes the job, despite the fact that he and Sam once shared a lusty interlude that ended when he left for war and disappeared from her life. Now, as they crack a conspiracy that leads to Boston's darkest corners, Sam and Zach must face their fears, desires, and doubts, before a hired killer gets a second shot...
