PNR Review: Samurai Game (Game/Ghostwalker) [Mass Market Paperback]

I've finished "Samurai Game" the 10th book in her Ghostwalker series by Christine Feehan.

Product Description

In a world so dark and seductive, expect nothing less than a triple-cross in the explosive all-new Ghostwalker novel by #1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan …

In an underground club, a high-ranking public official spends his secret nights indulging in fantasies as exciting as they are depraved. For a seductive employee of the Dungeon, it’s her job to fulfill them. But she’s playing a far more dangerous game — one of blackmail, politics, and murder that reaches into the shadow world of the Ghostwalkers, and the creation of a spectacular, one-of-a-kind new weapon of defense.

But when a dictator makes his own catastrophic moves, the Ghostwalkers have no choice but to bring in two major players — a man and woman both driven by passion and revenge. Both expendable. Both with nothing left to lose.

My Review:

Azami 'Thorn' Yoshiie is a Japanese business women sworn to exact revenge against the man who hurt, tortured and left her for dead.  She was viciously taken and brutally tortured for experimentation by evil and cruel Dr. Whitney and was then thrown away because she didn't exhibit any extraordinary powers like the other lab children.  She had hid her powers from him and she was very lucky to have been rescued by a powerful and reputable Japanese man.  He taught her the way of the samurai by fighting with a sword and other deadly weapons along with her two adoptive brothers.

Azami needs to know if the Ghostwalkers are in league with Dr. Whitney so they head off to the compound where she meets Sam Johnson one of the members.  While on the way to the compound they are attacked by unknowns so they split up and Sam and Azami are forced to fend for themselves.  They manage to defend themselves and get out alive.  There is an instant attraction between them but both are wary of each other.  They don't know if they should trust each other or what!

Azami was a great character because she can kick ass and defend herself with different sets of weapons.  With Sam as a partner they made a great team that shouldn't be underestimated with the great powers both weld.

3.5/5
