I've finished "Much Ado About Vampires" the 9th book in her Dark Ones series by Katie MacAlister.

My Review:

Cora is still getting over the fact her husband dumped her and her sister married a vampire.  After being banished to the Akasha after angering a demon lord she saves the life of a vampire.

Alec Darkwin a Dark One has been banished to the Akasha after killing the woman responsible for his wife's death.  When he wakes up he finds a stranger offering him her blood and nearly kills her for it.  He's puzzled to find himself attracted to Cora with signs that hint to a Beloved Bond which confuses him.

I didn't really connect with the heroine Cora because I didn't really like her at all.  I didn't like the way she treated Alec like he was ant not as a decent human being/vampire.

I liked Alec who I thought was a hot, sexy and brooding dark vampire but I can't believe he would have a Beloved who would treat him like crap.

3/5

Thanks Penguin Canada for sending me this book to review, greatly appreciated!
