Manga Review: AI Ore! Love Me!, Vol. 2 [Paperback]

I've finished "Ai Ore! Love Me, Vol. 2" by Mayu Shinjo.

Product Description

Reads R to L (Japanese Style), for audiences T+

Mizuki is the female "prince" of her all-girls school and the lead guitarist in an all-girl rock band. Akira is the male "princess" of his all-boys school and wants to join her band. Love may be on his mind, but romance is difficult when everyone keeps mistaking Mizuki for a boy and Akira for a girl!

Mizuki’s neighbor Shinnosuke returns from college for a visit, but the championship boxer is surprised to find the girl he likes involved with someone else. Will Akira be able to compete for Mizuki’s affections against such a manly rival?

My Review:

The manga continues where we left off at the end of Vol. 1 with Akira encouraging Rui to assault/rape of the girl who almost raped Mizuki.  Mizuki arrives in time to stop the attack and realizes that Akira feels like a wimp for not being their to protect her.

They are officially going out, but Mizuki still has her issues to deal with. She doesn't mind being a `Prince' at her school but she doesn't want people to think she's a guy just a really cool girl. The problem is that Akira is cuter than any girl and when they are together he's often mistaken for the girl and Mizuki for the guy. Her `issues' are getting worse, she's running out on Akira, crying and feeling sorry for herself.

In the second story Mizuki's neighbor Shinnosuke comes home and he's tall, hot and bigger than Mizuki and Akira (of course everyone's taller than him) and makes Mizuki realize how she's never mistaken for a guy with him. Mizuki and Akira are caught fooling around in her bedroom by her sister and Shinnosuke.  Shinnosuke believes Akira is a girl at first until he grabs him and then he realizes that he's a guy.  Shinnosuke challenges Akira to a boxing match and Akira asks Mizuki for a kiss which peps him up.  You learn Akira comes from a championship fighting family and his dad is a world known boxer.

This volume is as good as the first one with it's hilarious dreams and fantasies, some really steamy and smoking hot make out scenes and Akira in cat ears!  You also meet Akira's three older brothers who are very protective of him.  Rui and Ran play a bigger part in this volume and they both have a thing for Akira (they both like cute things).

5/5
