AUTHOR BIO
A native New Yorker, RITA-winning author Annie Solomon has been dreaming up stories since she was ten. After a twelve-year career in advertising, where she rose to Vice President and Head Writer at a mid-size agency, she abandoned the air conditioners, furnaces and heat pumps of her professional life for her first love — romance. An avid knitter, she now lives in Nashville with her husband and daughter.

Thanks so much Anna and Hachette Book Group/Forever for connecting us on this blog tour!
Thank you Annie for being here today to answer my Q/A, I greatly appreciate it!
Please take it away, Annie!
1. How much research do you use for your books?
I’m not a huge researcher—largely because I’ll use any excuse not to sit down and actually write my pages each day. Researching seems like a great way to avoid writing, so I don’t do much ahead of time. Then, during the course of writing, I’ll research whatever I need to know at the time.
2. How do you come up with your great storylines?
I never know when an idea is going to hit me. I can be inspired by an unusual location, a song lyric, a story in the news. Or an idea just takes hold — entirely out of my imagination. One Deadly Sin was inspired by the story of the Black Angel in Iowa (see the full story on my website
http://www.anniesolomon.com/writingideas.html).
My current book, Two Lethal Lies, began on General Hospital, believe it or not, where a storyline involving an unwanted pregnancy resulted in the parents suppressing the true father’s identity. What happens when the child discovers the truth? Of course, the book morphed way beyond that, but that was the nugget that started it all.
3. Are your characters based on real life people
I think all characters have a basis in reality, but in my books that reality is heightened and stretched. A lot of reviewers have said that Mitch and Neesy, my hero and heroine in Two Lethal Lies, are very “real,” which I take as a great compliment. But they’re not based on any real person I know. In fact, my life would be far more exciting than it is if I knew people like Margo Scott, the black ops agent in Blackout, or Alexandra Baker, the wealthy, Russian-American entrepreneur in Tell Me No Lies.
4. Would you consider writing in another genre?
Is that a hint? What other genre would you like me to try? LOL. Seriously, though, I’m currently working on a futuristic something-or-other that has been plaguing me for years. I finally decided to jump off a cliff and try writing it. Time will tell if I survive the fall or not…
5. Anything else you’d like to share?
First, I’d like to thank you for inviting me here. Second, I’d like to let everyone know about the Behind-the-Scenes section on my website. I’ve gathered a lot of research material and cool stuff related to Two Lethal Lies, so I hope your readers will stop by (http://www.anniesolomon.com/tll_behindthescenes.html). And while I’m at it, I’ve just started a Facebook page, so I hope some of you will join me there as well
