PNR Review: Mate Claimed (Shifters Unbound) [Mass Market Paperback]

I've finished "Mate Claimed" the 4th book in her Shifter's Unbound series by Jennifer Ashley.

Product Description

Eric Warden knows that half-Shifter wildcat Iona is passing for human, living without a Collar in the human world. He also knows that if she does not acknowledge her Shifter nature and her mating hunger, it could kill her.

Iona finds the mysterious and dangerous Eric, a wildcat and leader of his Shiftertown, haunting her dreams, but she vows never to take the Collar, fearing backlash against her mother and sister for hiding the fact that she's Shifter. But Eric is a compelling Shifter male, and Iona's hunger calls to him. Book 4 in the Shifters Unbound series. This is a full-length novel.

My Review:

Eric Warden is shifter leader of Shiftertown in Las Vegas.  In the previous book Eric met Iona in a shifter bar keeps an eye on her.  He knows she is a shifter, doesn't wear a collar and will be going through her mating frenzy soon.

Iona is half human and half shifter who has never met her shifter dad.  She has hidden her shifter self from the world and lives as a normal human who has never worn a collar.  She runs a construction company and lives with her mom and younger sister both who are human.  Iona doesn't want anything to do with Eric or any shifters and tries to avoid him at every opportunity.  At night she shifts into her panther self to run off her energy and Eric in his snow leopard form runs, plays and frolics with her.

As she interacts more with Eric she realizes that when her mating frenzy comes she won't be in control which would put her life in danger or she will go feral.  Eric also has to contend with another shifter leader Graham.
Graham challenges Eric for the rights to Iona as his mate because he just wanted to hurt him.

When Eric finally brings Iona to Shiftertown she meets his family and his friends and pack.  It was a delight to see Eric's family, friends and pack accept Iona as his mate since other paranormals I have read they don't accept them.

The chemistry between Iona and Eric was off the charts and when they finally came together it was very steamy and hot.  They work well together and I really like how she supported and took care of Eric.

Graham was a total jerk at first but he kind of redeemed himself when he helped Eric penetrate a fortress and protected both their clans from cruel experiments being done on shifters.  This reminded Eric about his nightmarish past when he was experimented on and first had to put on his collar.
