Manga Review: Vampire Knight, Vol. 15 [Paperback]

I've finished "Vampire Knight Vol. 15" by Matsuri Hino.

Product Description

Cross Academy is attended by two groups of students: the Day Class and the Night Class. At twilight, when the students of the Day Class return to their dorm, they cross paths with the Night Class on their way to school. Yuki Cross and Zero Kiryu are the Guardians of the school, protecting the Day Class from the Academy’s dark secret: the Night Class is full of vampires!

With Kaname missing, Yuki must now step in as acting head of her clan to maintain the fragile peace between the human and vampire societies. Will she be able to regain the trust of the vampire aristocrats, much less Aido?

Reads R to L (Japanese Style) for T+ audiences.

My Review:

In this volume Yuki has to deal with the mess that Kaname left from the last volume.  Everyone is in shock with the news of Kaname killed Aido's father and now has disappeared.  The aristocrats are afraid they might be next and they are wondering why Aido's father would agree to that.

Yuki's priority is to comfort and help Aido get through the pain of losing his father and to get answers from Kaname when she is able to track him down.

Yuki asks permission to start another Vampire Knight Class and she gets support from Shiki (her cousin), Rima and surprisingly Aido (who is in mourning and in great pain).

We also see Kaname's relationship with Kain turning very brutal with the implication that Kain will have to cut down Kaname.   Kain (wow he seems very angry and it really looks like he wants to kill Kaname) won't leave Ruka who seems to be very loyal to Kaname.

An interesting conversation between Aido and Zero with Aido letting Zero know he won't be like him and he will support Yuki who he believes is a good person inside and out.

Maria is back and lets Yuki know that she wants to steal Zero away from her and she seems to be socializing with the female vampire that has made a harem of females and taken Ichijo prisoner.

5/5
