Follow My Blog Friday #177

If you are new to the FF fun, Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday is now hosted by TWO hosts, myself of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

Now to make this FF interesting we do a FEATURE blogger. If you are interested in becoming a Feature click on the drop down link above FEATURES and Features and Follow Friday and get on the waiting list!  It is also required, that if you participate you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee and Alison Can Read) and the two Feature blogs.

This Meme is hosted by Rachel from Parajunkee's View and Alison from Alison Can Read on Fridays.

To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:

1.  (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee and Alison Can Read}

2.  (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers

3.  Put your Blog name and URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.

4.  Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.

5.  If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn’t have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed

6.  Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”

7.  If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love and the followers.

8.  If you’re new to the follow Friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!

Our Feature is The Book Girl

When did you start blogging? Hey guys! I’m Naiche, over at The Book Girl Reads. I started my blog back in 2010. I had poured over so many awesome book bloggers and book-tubers for a long time, so I finally decided to start up something of my own. I was definitely the new kid in the crowded cafeteria at first. My early backgrounds make me cringe today.

What is your favorite part of book blogging? I love that my blog is an outlet for my inner fangirl. Growing up, I didn’t really have a lot of friends who liked to obsess over swoon-worthy male leads and kick-ass plots like I did. When I joined the book blogging community, I got to rant and rave all day. Since then, I’ve met so many people who enjoy doing the same, and it’s pretty amazing.

What types of books do you mainly blog about? I try to keep my mind open to any kind of book, as long as it’s YA. From those light reads in which you know the two protagonists are going to confess their love to each other in the end to those serious action-packed fantasy series – I tend to enjoy anything that keeps me on my toes. Lately, I’ve been expanding into the adult genre, though. I just got Deathless by Catherynne Valente for Christmas, and it’s supposed to be this enchanting Russian fairytale set during World War II.

What is your favorite book(s)? I’m one of those readers who gets excited about every awesome book I pick up and call it the best thing ever. But The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin, and The Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare are some of my all-time favorites.

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging? I actually have two answers to this question, the first of which is attending the BEA. I went early this year, and the event completely blew my mind. Meeting my favorite authors, running around with my fellow bloggers, and picking up great reads along the way I was in heaven.

I also have seen a drastic change in my writing since I started blogging. Having people read your posts definitely makes you pay more attention to grammar and flow, and because of that, I’ve seen a lot of improvement in everything from school essays to creative writing.

Thanks so much for featuring me!

Our Feature - Bookish Findings

1.  When did you start blogging?

I started blogging about 8 months ago and after a few experiments I created Bookish Findings in June 2013.

2.  What is your favorite part of book blogging?

When I started blogging I had two main goals: to improve my English (I’m a Portuguese girl living in sunny Portugal) and to meet other bookaholics like me. So, definitively one of my favorite parts of book blogging is meeting other book bloggers who have the same taste in books, but also to discover amazing new books to read.

3.  What type of books do you mainly blog about?

I must confess I love the classics, but I also blog about YA, horror, and whatever I feel like reading at that moment (and as you may have noticed I blog a lot about literary gifts and other bookish stuff I discover on the web).

4.  What are your favorite books?

That’s a difficult question. But if I had to choose just one book I would go with Death with Interruptions by José Saramago, a Portuguese writer who won the Literature Nobel a few years ago. This amazing novel poses the question of what would happen if from now on nobody ever died.

5.  What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

Definitively meeting other bookaholics like me who share the same passion for books.

Question of the Week: What were your favorite books of 2013?

Some of my favorite reads are:

Styxx by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Lover at Last by J.R. Ward
No Escape by Mary Burton
Cold Snap by Allison Brennan
Thankless in Death by J. D. Robb
Getting Rowdy by Lori Foster
Silencing Eve by Iris Johansen
Declan's Cross by Carla Negger
Let Me Go by Chelsea Cain
Hunting Eve by Iris Johansen
Her Last Breath by Linda Castillo
Whiskey Beach by Nora Roberts
