If you are new to the FF fun, Feature and Follow Friday
is a blog
hop that expands your blog following by a
joint effort between
bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday
is now hosted by TWO hosts,
myself of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs! How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
Now to make this FF interesting we do a FEATURE blogger. If you are interested in becoming a Feature click on the drop down link above FEATURES and Features and Follow Friday and get on the waiting list! It is also required, that if you participate you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee and Alison Can Read) and the two Feature blogs.
This Meme is hosted by Rachel from Parajunkee's View and Alison from Alison Can Read on Fridays.
To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:
1. (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee and Alison Can Read}
2. (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers
3. Put your Blog name and URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
4. Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.
5. If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn’t have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
6. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”
7. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love and the followers.
8. If you’re new to the follow Friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!
Our Feature is Mystifying Paranormal Reads
When did you start blogging?
So, I started Book Blogging in November of 2010. I had a couple of Goodreads friends that were bloggers and they showed me the ropes and hooked me up with all the information I needed. I had lots of fun right off the bat!
What is your favorite part of book blogging?
I do love getting to read some of my favorite new books early, but then I go nuts waiting for the next one, because I read the previous one so early. What on earth was I thinking? But most of all, I absolutely love meeting new bloggers and readers, so I can gain more bookie friends!
What type of books do you mainly blog about?
When I first started blogging my main focus was on paranormal books. So that includes Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance & Young Adult. But recently some friends got me to get into different genres, so I’m reading and reviewing Erotica, Contemporary, Historical Romance & M/M Romance. But my main genre I rave about on the blog are the paranormal books!
What is your favorite book(s)?
Oh, god. Too long a list. Haha! My all-time favorite series is the Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning. I’m a hardcore fan! I need more Fever books ASAP! Second all-time favorite is Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews. I love that series to death too! Those two series are my loves in the world. But I do love me some Colorado Mountain by Kristen Ashley, Chicagoland Vampires by Chloe Neill, and Night Huntress by Jeaniene Frost. Just to name a few. Obviously I have many more favorites.
What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
I would say that going to bookish events. I have had a couple of book signings here and I didn’t really ever think of going or got informed of any until I started blogging and I got to go and meet up with other bloggers too and meet some favorite authors! It was awesome! I hope to more of that this year.
Our Feature - Worn Down Glories
1. When did you start blogging?
I started blogging in the summer of 2012 but stopped for awhile to really figure out if I wanted to continue to or not. I blogged off and on in 2013 and relaunched my blog in August of 2013 with plans to make 2014 the year I continue to blog and have fun with it no matter what is going on in my life.
2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?
It's a tie between making new friends and discovering so many amazing books to read. Everyone has welcomed me with open arms and has been so kind. The amount of books I've discovered in my short time of blogging has been beyond amazing and so many of these have touched me. I can't wait to see what books 2014 brings.
3. What type of books do you mainly blog about?
I mainly blog about YA but there are a couple NA books that I've blogged about that I have fallen for after discovering them.
4. What are your favorite books?
The Hunger Games trilogy has to be at the top of my list. This series truly pulled me back into reading. I read the entire trilogy in under four days and since then I haven't stopped reading. I was drawn to the characters, touched by their struggles and found myself wondering why I had stopped reading. I haven't put books down since I read the trilogy and I am so thankful I read them. The trilogy also cemented a very important friendship in my life that has since become more and I am so thankful for that. We really bonded over the series and brought us to where we are today.
5. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
Healing. I've gone through some real tough times growing up and being able to find and connect to books has really helped me heal in a lot of ways. I've been able to confront situations I've faced and work through them. It hasn't been easy, but it's been so rewarding. I would have never expected it to happen through something like book blogging, but I am so thankful it did.
Question of the Week: Who is your blogger BFF? Tell us a little bit about him or her? If not tell us why you need or don’t need a blogger BFF.
Unfortunately I don't have a blogger BFF! I would like to have one so we could bounce off ideas off each other and if they know html and stuff I could ask them about that if I got stuck. Also we could trade books and stuff that would be so much fun!
