Manga Review: Demon Love Spell, Vol. 3
I've finished "Demon Love Spell Vol. 3" by Mayu Shinjo.
Product Description
A supernatural romance by the creator of Ai Ore! and Sensual Phrase
Miko is a shrine maiden who has never had much success at seeing or banishing spirits. Then she meets Kagura, a sexy demon who feeds off women's feelings of passion and love. Kagura’s insatiable appetite has left many girls at school brokenhearted, so Miko casts a spell to seal his powers. Surprisingly the spell works — sort of — but now Kagura is after her!
Shrine maiden Miko has sealed the powers of the sexy incubus Kagura, who has vowed to protect her. Miko finds herself suddenly popular with the boys at school and starts getting asked out. Has falling in love with Kagura made her more attractive to the opposite sex, or is some other mysterious force at work?
Reads R to L (Japanese Style) for teen plus audiences.

My Review:
This volume opens with Miko and her family enjoying watching Yamabuki the Onmyoji on TV. Sou Yamabuki once was a discipline of Miko's father and chibi Kagura is jealous that Miko is crushing Sou. She reassures him that he is number one and the coolest guy in her eyes.
The next day at school she is suddenly popular with all the guys and they start asking her out. She thinks maybe she is possessed by a demon why else would she be suddenly attractive to guys?
Kagura finally asks Miko out on a date and she blackmails him to eat burgers and fries with her. She even dares him to feed her fries with his mouth which he starts doing with his eyes shut. They are both embarrassed and she stops it before anything happens. Sou appears and ruins the end of the date an vanquishes a low level succubus demon from Miko's soul. Sou informs Miko that even though she doesn't know how to use her full powers yet she is extremely talented. He is determined to take Miko away from Kagura by marrying Miko and to gain more power so he would be more powerful than Miko's father. Kagura takes extreme matters into his own hands to defeat his rival.
The second story focuses on a snow demon Miyuki who wants Miko for his own and decides to protect her. Miko and Kagura have a major fight and she says some things which makes Kagura leave her side - but is it forever?
Sou's motivations seem selfish and petty because he doesn't really love Miko and just wants to harvest her powers for himself to up her father.
Kagura's actions prove that he really cares for Miko and her welfare (they sure kiss more in this volume).
4/5
