ARC Review: Kiss of Steel [Mass Market Paperback]

I've finished "Kiss of Steel" by Bec McMaster.

Product Description

When Nowhere is Safe

Most people avoid the dreaded Whitechapel district. For Honoria Todd, it's the last safe haven. But at what price?

Blade is known as the master of the rookeries — no one dares cross him. It's been said he faced down the Echelon's army single–handedly, that ever since being infected by the blood–craving he's been quicker, stronger, and almost immortal.

When Honoria shows up at his door, his tenuous control comes close to snapping. She's so ... innocent. He doesn't see her backbone of steel — or that she could be the very salvation he's been seeking.

About the Author

When not writing, reading, or poring over travel brochures, she loves spending time with her very own hero or daydreaming about new worlds.

My Review:

Honoria Todd is in charge of two younger siblings with Charlie her brother suffering from the blue blood virus.  She is trying to provide for them while starving herself when she is discovered by Blade the master of the rookeries and the Blue Blood.  He is attracted to her and is determined to find a way to make her his while trying to keep her safe from powerful enemies.

I really liked Honoria's personality because you can see she really loves her siblings and is determined to make sure they have enough to eat and have roof over their heads.  I believe a lot of people can relate to her situation.

I also really liked Blade too because he takes care of his own and lives his own life not the regular norm of how a ruler usually lives.

The romance between Honoria and Blade started slowly and built up to a true connection full of steamy action.

4/5

Thanks Sourcebooks for sending me this ARC to review, greatly appreciated!
