The anime opens with Masato, Otoya and Natsuki practising their dance moves (I thought it was kind of cheesy dance moves but I did enjoy the music/song). Otoya and Natsuki say they are ready for the competition next week but Masato says they aren't ready. They are offbeat and need to practice some more. Haruka is watching them and she really enjoyed their show. Masato says to start all over again and she is about to turn on the radio again when Masato tells her to start from a certain part.
In the background you can see Ren walking around the school with a flower in his hands a horde of female followers following behind him asking him to pick them to be his partner. He sniffs the flower and then he notices the gang over by the grassy part. He asks when did Masato get so cozy with the little lamb and then they start arguing again when Syo calls Ren's name. He asks him about his song and don't forget that Mr. Ryuuya will kick him out if he doesn't finish. Then we see Mr. Ryuuya saying Ren's name and warning him again.
Then we see Masato and Ren in their room talking while Ren is throwing darts. He asks Masato if he's worried about him. Of course Masato doesn't answer and Ren makes a tsk sound. Then we see Ren taking out his saxaphone and start playing and everyone is listening. Love this song!
Then we see Haruka coming outside to talk to Ren about his song, etc. He says he's tired and it's time for him to leave. Masato comes and says so go ahead and leave. Of course they argue again and then Masato leaves. Ren and Haruka start grappling and his composition falls out. Haruka tries to look at his paper but Ren tears it up and lets the wind blow it away. Haruka says she will go look for it.
We see Haruka looking everyone and Tokiya sees her from one of the windows. She gets her friends to help her find the paper. We see Ren lying in the grass whistling and remembering some of his childhood and it's not very pleasant. We learn his mom loves to sing but his dad throw her out because he didn't like that she was a musician. Then Haruka arrives and gives him half a sheet and she will try to find the rest of it. Then he says she won't find it because he hasn't written it yet.
Then we see Ringo taking to Ryuuya and saying he's being harsh to Ren and to give him another chance. Then we see everyone in class and Haruka and gang are talking about Ren not being there. Then all of a sudden Ren is on the loudspeaker saying everyone and little lamb I've finally finished my song. Then he starts singing and we Haruka and gang dancing.
