Manga Review: My Love Story Vol. 1

I've finished "My Love Story Vol. 1" by Kazune Kawahara.

Takeo Goda is a giant guy with a giant heart. Too bad the girls don’t want him! (They want his good-looking best friend, Sunakawa.) Used to being on the sidelines, Takeo simply stands tall and accepts his fate. But one day when he saves a girl named Yamato from a harasser on the train, his (love!) life suddenly takes an incredible turn!

Too bad the girls don’t want him! (They want his good-looking best friend, Sunakawa.)

Used to being on the sidelines, Takeo simply stands tall and accepts his fate. But one day when he saves a girl named Yamato from a harasser on the train, his (love!) life suddenly takes an incredible turn!

Takeo can hardly believe it when he crosses paths with Yamato again, and he finds himself falling in love with her but with handsome Sunakawa around, does Takeo even stand a chance?

My Review:

Takeo Goda is a very big giant who is pretty bulky and looks like a wrestler.  He looks pretty intimidating but he wears his heart on his sleeve.  He easily falls in love with girls but they don't want him they want his good looking best friend Makoto Sunakawa.

Makoto Sunakawa seems like a cold person but in reality he isn't interested in girls but just wants to study.  It was pretty harsh but I kind of thought it was cool when he told girls he wasn't interested in them.  We find out why he was so harsh with them later in the manga and it's a good one.

It was a surprise and a delight to find out how tight Takeo and Sunakawa's friendship is and how there isn't any jealousy between them.  They both have each other's backs and wants the other to be happy.

I was really happy that Rinko was interested in Takeo and not Sunakawa.  It's hilarious how she goes after Takeo and he thinks she after Sunakawa.

4/5
