If you are new to the FF fun, Feature and Follow Friday
is a blog
hop that expands your blog following by a
joint effort between
bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday
is now hosted by TWO hosts,
myself of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs! How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
Now to make this FF interesting we do a FEATURE blogger. If you are interested in becoming a Feature click on the drop down link above FEATURES and Features and Follow Friday and get on the waiting list! It is also required, that if you participate you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee and Alison Can Read) and the two Feature blogs.
This Meme is hosted by Rachel from Parajunkee Review and Alison from Alison Can Read on Fridays.
To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:
1. (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee and Alison Can Read}
2. (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers
3. Put your Blog name and URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
4. Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.
5. If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn’t have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
6. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”.
7. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love and the followers.
8. If you’re new to the follow Friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!
Our Feature is Baggins @Pinker Than Fiction
When did you start blogging?
I first started waaaaaay back in 2010 as Baggins’s Book Blabber, but in 2012 I stopped blogging due to major personal and health reasons. 3 years is a very long time and I missed blogging a lot. I recently felt like I was ready to get back into it, so I redesigned my blog and now I’m Pinker Than Fiction Reviews. It’s only been a few weeks, but I’m so happy to be back. It almost feels like I never had to stop. It’s something I truly love to do and I’m determined to never give it up again.
What is your favourite part of book blogging?
The books and the other fantastic bloggers I get to know. I’ve always been a big reader, but blogging has definitely proven that I’d miss out on a lot of great books and authors. Doesn’t matter how often I may have visited bookstores, or browsed online booksellers and Goodreads, there’s always another awesome book I only hear about thanks to book blogs. It’s also amazing meeting other book bloggers who love the same things. Not a lot of my friends in real life like the things I do, especially the same books, so it’s the best feeling to meet someone who gets it and you can have a conservation – or, lets be honest – a squeal over it all with.
What type of books do you mainly blog about?
Anything and everything YA. I love young adult fiction to the point of obsession. Contemporary, romance, dystopian, historical, paranormal, whatever. If it’s YA, I’ll read and blog about it.
What is your favourite book(s)?
Ah, the hard question. There’s so many. I know everyone says that! It’s easier to pick authors, like Sarah Dessen, Maggie Stiefvater, Stephanie Perkins and David Levithan to name a few. I could never pick a favourite book of theirs. I also love Nicholas Sparks. I have to admit that, despite his not being YA. Favourite books are definitely the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor, If I Stay by Gayle Forman, Ultraviolet by R.J. Anderson, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, The Day After Forever by Erin Skiffington and The Agency series by Y.S. Lee. Phew!
What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
Simply, the act of book blogging. Finding something that I’m passionate about is the best thing and having an outlet for it, a community for it, is inspiring and so much fun. And okay, having an author of a book I’ve reviewed acknowledge my review is pretty darn awesome. It doesn’t happen often, but I can be a little starstruck and it’s scary and exciting all at once.
Our Feature - Bursting Books Reviews
1. When did you start blogging?
I first started blogging 2 years ago before I started uni but I read very little once uni started (I only read 23 books in 2 years :O). I just couldn't keep up with all the required readings for school, projects etc so I had to stop reading/blogging. I am in my final semester of uni now and I decided to get back to blogging/reading again and I've been going strong for 3 months now!
2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?
The community is definitely my favourite part. I don't have many irl friends that read as much as me so it can be a pretty lonely hobby sometimes. With book blogging, I can talk about books all the time and there will always be someone who I can talk to! Also, I think it has really helped me express my thoughts and opinions better. I used to struggle quite a bit with putting my thoughts into words but I think I am getting better at it now.
3. What type of books do you mainly blog about?
I don't really have a specific genre/type of books that I blog about. I enjoy a pretty wide variety of books from classics to YA to Adult so I just blog about any of the books I have read/enjoyed. I enjoy the writing and the storytelling aspect in books more than the genre it belongs to. :)
4. What are your favorite books?
I made a post two weeks ago regarding this: http://burstingbooks.blogspot.sg/2015/03/top-10-books-for-readers-who-like-life.html Feel free to check it out :) My all time favourite series is of course Harry Potter!
5. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
I am still relatively new but I really love it when people tell me that they've enjoyed my posts or that my reviews/recommendations were really helpful. It really makes my day! I also love all the friendships that I've made and I am alway so grateful when I get to read books before they are published. :)

Sadly I have never been to BEA though I wish I could go! I participate in the online BEA party every year so far!
