Follow My Blog Friday #193

If you are new to the FF fun, Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday is now hosted by TWO hosts, myself of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

Now to make this FF interesting we do a FEATURE blogger. If you are interested in becoming a Feature click on the drop down link above FEATURES and Features and Follow Friday and get on the waiting list!  It is also required, that if you participate you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee and Alison Can Read) and the two Feature blogs.

This Meme is hosted by Rachel from Parajunkee's View and Alison from Alison Can Read on Fridays.

To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:

1.  (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee and Alison Can Read}

2.  (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers

3.  Put your Blog name and URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.

4.  Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.

5.  If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn’t have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed

6.  Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”

7.  If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love and the followers.

8.  If you’re new to the follow Friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!

Our Feature this week:

Orange Owls and Books

When did you start blogging?

November of 2013. It has been less than six months but I’m loving it!

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

Being able to get advanced copies. Seriously. It’s worth everything. I also really love being able to chat with other book lovers.

What type of books do you mainly blog about?

Young adult. They’ve always been a favorite.

What is your favorite book(s)?

Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli is my number one favorite book ever. My favorite series are The Queens Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner and The Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz. (Those are all middle grade books on a YA blog, you say? Ah the irony.)

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

I have a feeling that this hasn’t happened yet but I for now, I’ll say it’s the reply tweet. It was awesome.

Our Feature - Geeky Chiquitas

1.  When did you start blogging?

We started blogging last year around September or so, but back then we had more of a personal blog, not a book blog. Geeky Chiquitas became mainly a book blog around New Year. While we were celebrating, we kinda got the idea that becoming a book blog would be great.

2.  What is your favorite part of book blogging?

My favorite part about book blogging is meeting new friends. The book community is just awesome. We've interacted with authors bloggers and so many other bookish people all because of our book blog. They're all great and amazing and super friendly. They'll make new book bloggers feel right at home.

3.  What type of books do you mainly blog about?

Mostly we blog about YA, specifically contemporary. We actually read anything but it's just that we've had a lot of great reads in that genre lately. Of course, there are also a lot of books from other genres that we have also enjoyed as much as we enjoyed the books from contemporary YA. Basically, we blog about any book that we happen to want to blog about. It just so happens that those books mainly come from YA contemporary.

4.  What are your favorite books?

My favorite book.. Ah that's hard! There's too many to choose from but classic favorite would really have to be the Harry Potter series. I can't seem to find any book that can top that.

5.  What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

The best thing about book blogging that has happened to me.... Is that I got to interact with a lot of great and awesome authors that I wouldn't have had the chance to talk to if it weren't for book blogging. We never really thought that we would get to interact with authors. It's amazing how, now, we get to interact with them and it's all because of book blogging.

Question of the Week: Have you ever convinced someone to read a book, a series, or a whole genre?

What book(s) and who was it? Did they like it?

I have convinced my bro to read "The Black Dagger Brotherhood" series by J.R. Ward, "The Dark Hunter series, "The Were Hunter" series, "The Chronicles of Nick" and "The League" series by Sherrilyn Kenyon.

Now all I have to do is let him know about "The Belador" series by Sherrilyn Kenyon.

Our book club encourages reading just about EVERYTHING! We vote on monthly group reads to discuss. Sometimes we hate 'em; sometimes we love 'em. The most important thing is to have fun, right?

I've been seeing a lot of The Black Dagger Brotherhood around but haven't gotten to it yet. I'm going to have to check it out. I'm an old GFC and Bloglovin' follower! Thanks for sharing :) I hope you had a great weekend!
