ARC Review: Against the Ropes Paperback

I've finished "Against the Ropes" by Sarah Castille.

He scared me. He thrilled me. And after one touch, all I could think about was getting more.

Makayla never thought she'd set foot in an elite mixed martial arts club. But if anyone needs a medic on hand, it's these guys. Then again, at her first sight of the club's owner, she's the one feeling breathless.

The man they call Torment is all sleek muscle and restrained power. Whether it's in the ring or in the bedroom, he knows exactly when a soft touch is required and when to launch a full-on assault. He always knows just how far he can push. And he's about to tempt Makayla in ways she never imagined.

My Review:

I really liked Torment because he was sexy, funny, interesting, likeable and a one-woman man.  You can sense he is really into Makayla.

Makayla on the otherhand I didn't really like though I did like her sassy attitude.  I really couldn't stand how every situation she would be thinking of sex (enough is enough).  I also didn't like how decisive she was about Torment and would walk off with jealousy many times but she dirty danced with an obsessive guy, flashed herself and acted so immature.

2.5

Thanks Sourcebooks for sending me this ARC to review, greatly appreciated!

That's one hot cover! Too bad you couldn't connect with the main girl. I hate when its all about SEX. :( *sigh*
