Follow My Blog Friday #131

If you are new to the FF fun, Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday is now hosted by TWO hosts, myself of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

Now to make this FF interesting we do a FEATURE blogger. If you are interested in becoming a Feature click on the drop down link above FEATURES and Features and Follow Friday and get on the waiting list!  It is also required, that if you participate you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee and Alison Can Read) and the two Feature blogs.

This Meme is hosted by Rachel from Parajunkee's View and Alison from Alison Can Read on Fridays.

To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:

When did you start blogging?

I started my blog way back in October of 2008, so, I’ve actually been at this for quite some time. I had been a longtime reader of Meg Cabot’s blog and just decided one day that I wanted to start my own. Truthfully, sometimes I am surprised when I realize how long I’ve been blogging, as, well as how much it has helped me to come out of my shell of shyness.

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

What I like most about book blogging would be interacting with my fellow book junkies, and being up to date on all the newest authors and books. Because of book blogging, I have tried so many new authors and even given some books a chance that I probably would not have tried had someone not insisted that I read it.

What type of books do you mainly blog about?

Mainly I blog about young adult and middle grade books, but have been known to feature whatever happens to have caught my eye. Generally, if a book and I cross paths, the odds are very, very likely that I am going to talk about it on my blog regardless of whether of I liked it or not.

What is your favorite book(s)?

Why, oh why, must this question be asked. There have been so many books that I would count as a favorite of mine, but the ones that are eternally in the favorite slot would have to be.

Harry Potter by J.K. Rowlings
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle
Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

Best thing….One of the best things that has happened to me because of book blogging would have to be being able to work with so many authors, and even meeting a couple of them. Before I started blogging, I never really considered that one could possibly meet or even talk to an author, so, being able to connect with them online has been both exciting and terrifying (especially when trying to set up an interview).

Our Feature - Never Too Fond of Books

1. When did you start blogging?

Technically, I started my book blog in July of 2011, but I didn't start blogging in earnest until January 1, 2012. That was when I decided that this was something I was going to work at and that I really wanted to be a part of this community.

2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?

I'm primarily a young adult fiction girl, with a bit of adult urban fantasy and paranormal romance thrown in. Honestly - I'm really all over the place, but I do have my favorites that I always come back to.

3. What is your favorite book(s)?

There is no one single favorite book. They all have such unique and individual personalities that I can't possibly choose between them. When I'm sad and need comfort, I want to go find solace in the arms of Jericho Barrons (yes, I really do find comfort there). When I want to read about best friends, I dive into the pages of Harry Potter. When I need a reminder of loyalty I think of Rose, Lissa, and Dimitri. They're all my favorites.

4. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

Hands down, going to BEA and meeting Rachel Vincent. And of course some of my other favorite authors (like John Scalzi, Deborah Harkness, RL Stine, Jenny Lawson, Libba Bray, Aimee Carter, and Veronica Roth). But really... Rachel Vincent. That meeting made my whole year. And I never would have gone if I hadn't started blogging and been introduced to the book blogging community.

Q: If you could choose one supernatural being/creature to really exists what would it be and why? ex. fae

I chose a gryphon because I've always had a fondness for them and if I needed transportation I could fly on one.

I didn't think of Gryphon. Terrific answer.
New follower. I am looking forward to your posts. I am just now getting into paranormal romance, so I am sure that I can discover some good reads here.
