If you are new to the FF fun, Feature and Follow Friday
is a blog
hop that expands your blog following by a
joint effort between
bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday
is now hosted by TWO hosts,
myself of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs! How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
Now to make this FF interesting we do a FEATURE blogger. If you are interested in becoming a Feature click on the drop down link above FEATURES and Features and Follow Friday and get on the waiting list! It is also required, that if you participate you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee and Alison Can Read) and the two Feature blogs.
This Meme is hosted by Rachel from Parajunkee's View and Alison from Alison Can Read on Fridays.
To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:
1. (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee and Alison Can Read}
2. (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers
3. Put your Blog name and URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
4. Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.
5. If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn’t have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
6. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”
7. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love … and the followers
8. If you’re new to the follow Friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!
The Friday Follow Feature are ...
Our Feature is Pretty Deadly Reviews
When did you start blogging?
February of 2011.
What is your favorite part of book blogging?
As cliche as it sounds, the community is my favorite part of blogging. Book bloggers are some of the nicest, most genuine, and most generous people out there. Because of my blog I’ve met some of the best people on the planet.
What type of books do you mainly blog about?
I blog about darker YA – “issues” books, thrillers, horrors and dystopias.
What is your favorite book(s)?
Harry Potter, of course. Anything written by Nova Ren Suma, Marcus Sedgwick, or Holly Black.
What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
Getting to connect with other readers and authors. Authors are rock stars, and in one totally awesome instance, I attended a signing event and the authors recognized me! It was exhilarating and validating.
Our Feature - Boarding with Books
1. When did you start blogging?
I started blogging this past December, so I'm still quite a newbie:)
2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?
My favorite part of book blogging is the ability to rant with people who actually GET IT, you know? I loved writing my review of Clockwork Princess, for example, and then getting an email from another blogger who was all emotional like me and we were able to freak out together!
3. What type of books do you mainly blog about?
Basically YA everything- fantasy, paranormal, historical fiction, sci-fi... and I do MG too.
4. What is your favorite book(s)?
I HATE THIS QUESTION. I guess Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, The Infernal Devices and The Hunger Games. And What Happened to Alaska. And..... alright I'll stop.
5. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
Well, this is a kind of small, unimportant thing but I got tweeted by a bunch of authors like Cassandra Clare, Sara Zarr, Margaret Stohl, Kami Garcia, and Scott Westerfeld (who even read and retweeted my review of Leviathan!). Living overseas, I never get the chance to meet my favorite authors so becoming a blogger and getting to talk to them on Twitter is really awesome.
Q: Give us a sneak! What are you reading? Tell us about a fun or fail scene in your current read.
I just finished "Rage" by Debra Webb the 4th book in her Faces of Evil series.
This book opens up with a brutal dismembered murder of a police officers wife with their baby lying down the hall and it's full of rage.
Jess Harris has moved back to her Alabama hometown as the new Major Crimes deputy chief. She is haunted by Eric Spears the serial killer who leaves her taunting text messages. When Jess arrives at the murder scene it's like a reenactment of the Charles Manson massacre full of bloodshed.
Jess is still trying to deal with her job, living back in her hometown, trying to find a place to live, dealing with Wesley her ex-husband and Dan Burnett her boss and former fiance.
Jess is such a great character because she does things her way to solve things or gets things done outside police pro ducal. She is smart, ambitious, very caring about people she loves and independent.
I also really like Dan because he's very protective, caring about Jess and supports her though he has to be careful since he is the Chief of Police.
