Follow My Blog Friday #218

If you are new to the FF fun, Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday is now hosted by TWO hosts, myself of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

Now to make this FF interesting we do a FEATURE blogger. If you are interested in becoming a Feature click on the drop down link above FEATURES and Features and Follow Friday and get on the waiting list!  It is also required, that if you participate you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee and Alison Can Read) and the two Feature blogs.

This Meme is hosted by Rachel from Parajunkee Review and Alison from Alison Can Read on Fridays.

To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:

1.  (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee and Alison Can Read}

2.  (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers

3.  Put your Blog name and URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.

4.  Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.

5.  If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn’t have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed

6.  Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”.

7.  If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love and the followers.

8.  If you’re new to the follow Friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!

Our Feature is My Bookish Itinerary

When did you start blogging?

I first started my blog: Her Reviews of Books, Movies and Everything in August 2013. But I didn’t start actively blogging on it until February 2014. I changed my Blog name in January 2015 to My Bookish Itinerary. Back in 2013 when I started blogging, I wasn’t sure how long I would be doing it and if I would even like it. I wasn’t even completely sure what topic I really wanted to blog about. But I absolutely love book blogging and I hope to be doing it for a while to come!

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

I think my favorite part of book blogging is the interaction. Before, I never reached out or talked to any authors that I really love. I am still really shy about this, but I love when I interact with authors on Twitter. Also the interaction with other bloggers. I don’t have many bookish people in my real life, so it has been wonderful to meet so many online. Bookish people to flail about ALL THE BOOKS with, and just to share my excitement and love for books.

What type of books do you mainly blog about?

I mainly blog about Young Adult books. I like pretty much all genres. My favorites though are Dystopian, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Contemporary. I also blog about Childrens Books from time to time with my daughters. (8 y/o & 4 y/o)

What is your favorite book(s)?

Well that is a hard question. My oldest favorite would be the Harry Potter books. I loved reading them growing up and am excited to be able to share them with my daughters. I also LOVE and adore The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas, and Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch. (There are more and I could go on for a long time, but I will stop here.)

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

Hmmm… a lot of good things have happened because of book blogging. But I think the best thing has been reading more. I have always loved reading since I can remember. But since I have started blogging, I read a lot more than I used to. And it makes me very happy! Also being able to discover new books and authors that I probably wouldn’t have found before blogging.

Our Feature - Book Cat Pin

1. When did you start blogging?

I started in July of 2014! Can't believe it's already seven months :D

2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?

Getting to interact with other book lovers! I love being able to chat and flail about everything book-related. It's so much fun!

3. What type of books do you mainly blog about?

Mainly Young Adult and New Adult for me! Although I have recently started reading some Adult books and found them really enjoyable!

4. What are your favorite books?

I recently fell in love with The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon because it's SO good! The world is so complex and the characters are all so fantastic. I can't wait for more!! It's a mixture of different genres so I think it'll appeal to a lot of readers.

5. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

The best thing is also my favourite thing which was my answer for question #2~ It's been so wonderful getting to know other bloggers. Before I started blogging I had no one to talk books with but now I have a bunch! I'm so grateful for the chance to be friends with these awesome people!

Question of the Week: Do you read more than 1 book at a time, and if so, how, like a certain amount of pages per book before moving on to the next one in the queue? - Suggested by Words I Write Crazy

I normally read one book at a time unless I have a tight review schedule than I will read two books at one time.  I might also read more than one book when I'm more interested in another book than the current one I'm reading.
