Follow My Blog Friday #181

If you are new to the FF fun, Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday is now hosted by TWO hosts, myself of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

Now to make this FF interesting we do a FEATURE blogger. If you are interested in becoming a Feature click on the drop down link above FEATURES and Features and Follow Friday and get on the waiting list!  It is also required, that if you participate you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee and Alison Can Read) and the two Feature blogs.

This Meme is hosted by Rachel from Parajunkee's View and Alison from Alison Can Read on Fridays.

To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:

1.  (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee and Alison Can Read}

2.  (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers

3.  Put your Blog name and URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.

4.  Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.

5.  If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn’t have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed

6.  Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”

7.  If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love and the followers.

8.  If you’re new to the follow Friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!

Our Feature is Tale of Two Doxies

When did you start blogging?

I am actually a total newbie to blogging; I officially started my blog on Sunday, January 26th of this year. I’m still figuring things out, but I am very excited about meeting others who are passionate about books and having the opportunity to learn about so many great reads!

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

My favorite part of book blogging (and why I decided to dive in) is the opportunity to meet others and share about all the fantastic reads that are out there! I love that I finally have a place to connect with others who are reading the same books, and have similar book interests, and that we can discuss, recommend, and commiserate over book experiences. I’m also loving all the great new books I’m learning about every day!

What types of books do you mainly blog about?

Mainly I enjoy reading and blogging about Young Adult literature and Chick Lit novels. I’m open to a variety of genres within the YA category including: contemporary romance, fantasy, dystopian, mystery, and historical. I also love to read “Chick Lit/Romance” novels, especially certain authors in this genre (including Meg Cabot, Jennifer Crusie, Susan Mallery) and I love some UK authors as well (like Jill Mansell, Sophie Kinsella, and Hester Browne to name a few).

What is your favorite book(s)?

This is probably the hardest question – it’s like choosing your favorite child or pet! To keep things from getting to long a few of my favorite books are:

· Harry Potter series by JK Rowling (I grew up with them and they are amazing!)

· Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

· Heist Society series by Ally Carter

· Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine (fairy tale retellings, love)

· Goose Girl by Shannon Hale

· Pushing the Limits series by Katie McGarry

· Heather Wells series and the Boy series by Meg Cabot

· Song of the Lioness (Alanna) series by Tamora Pierce

…and sooooo many others. It’s so hard to choose, but if I don’t stop myself we’ll never see the end of this list. So that is a few of my many favorites.

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

I would have to say getting to meet so many great new people, and to learn about so many amazing new reads. I love hearing other people’s thoughts on books and seeing what new gems they’ve found each week.

Our Feature - YA Asylum

1. When did you start blogging?

I started book blogging around February 2013, so almost a whole year ago.

2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?

I love so many things about it. I've made some really great friends. Outside of the blogosphere, I don't know that many people that are as obsessed with books as me so it's such a relief to get on twitter and start talking to other book lovers about an author I adore or a book that I loved beyond words. In a really weird roundabout way my book blog got me my internship at P.S. Literary too, which is amazing.

3. What type of books do you mainly blog about?

YA. I'm completely in love with YA books. I'll read any genre within YA, but I have a special love for horror and thrillers. I'll read Adult horror/thrillers and the occasional MG book as well.

4. What are your favorite books?

Anything by Nova Ren Suma, John Green, Courtney Summers, Gretchen McNeil, Lexa Cain, Kendare Blake, and Laini Taylor.

5. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

It's between two events. I met Lexa Cain through book blogging, which is amazing. She's the best critique partner a girl could ask for and a great author. The other is getting my internship with P.S. Literary. A long story quick: Carly Watters liked my post on The Importance of Critique Partners enough to link to it on her blog. I was super excited, of course, because she's a remarkable literary agent. Then I started to look around on her blog and happened to see that they were looking for internships. I applied and got the position. I don't know if I would have caught the window for application if I Carly hadn't linked to that post.

Question of the Week: If you could read a book for the “first time” again, which book would it be? Why?

I have three books I would love to read for the first time again and they are "One Foot in the Grave" by Jeaniene Frost, "Narcissus in Chains" by Anita Blake and "Lover at Last" by J.R. Ward.

The Reasons

One Foot in the Grave

1.  The infamous and unforgettable love scene in Chapter 32

Narcissus in Chains

1.  The introduction of the Ardeur
2.  The infamous shower scene with Micah

Lover at Last

1.  The hot M/M love scenes
2.  The snarky arguments between Qhuinn and Blay
