PNR Review: The Darkest Whisper (Lords of the Underworld) [Mass Market Paperback]

I've finished "The Darkest Whisper" the 4th book in her Lords of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter.

Product Description

Bound by the demon of Doubt, Sabin unintentionally destroys even the most confident of lovers. So the immortal warrior spends his time on the battlefield instead of the bedroom, victory his only concern until he meets Gwendolyn the Timid. One taste of the beautiful redhead, and he craves more.

Gwen, an immortal herself, always thought she'd fall for a kind human who wouldn't rouse her darker side. But when Sabin frees her from prison, battling their enemies for the claim to Pandora's box turns out to be nothing compared to the battle Sabin and Gwen will wage against love.

About the Author

My Review:

Sabin possesses the demon Doubt and he intentionally destroys his lovers until he meets Gwendolyn the Timid who is very match.  When both of them meet they instantly connect and her true self slowly emerges.  She tries to control her deadly true nature (she is a Harpy) but Sabin seems to bring it out.

Sabin's last lover killed herself after falling to Doubt's words and Sabin has forced himself not to get involved again with any woman just find Pandora's box.  He wants to use Gwen against Galen as an ally and it was funny when we find out Doubt is scared of Gwen.

I really enjoyed the insights of the other Lords and the interactions between all of them.

4/5

I really need to read more of this series. I read the first book back in 2010 and for some odd reason never continued with the series even though I own books 2 and 3.

Thanks for the great review, you have reminded me about this series and how great it is.

Glad you enjoyed the book!
