Manga Review: Otomen, Vol. 14 [Paperback]

I've finished "Otomen Vol. 14" by Aya Kanno.

Product Description

Asuka Masamune is a guy who loves girly things -- sewing, knitting, making cute stuffed animals and reading shojo comics. But in a world where boys are expected to act manly, Asuka must hide his beloved hobbies and play the part of a masculine jock instead. Can Asuka ever show his true self to anyone, much less to Ryo Miyakozuka, the girl that he's falling for?

Asuka and Ryo join their friend Kitora on an adventure abroad to find the legendary delamezla flower!

Meanwhile, things get complicated when Asuka encourages his cousin Kasuga to confess his feelings to his crush — especially when Asuka becomes involved in more ways than one!

Reads R to L (Japanese Style) for teen audiences.

My Review:

Kitora with the rest of gang except for Juta go on an adventure to find the legendary delamezla flower.  They meet Juta's cousin and uncle in a little town which hasn't seen any visitors for a long time.  The cousin tries to make the trip fun but Kitora isn't haven't any of it.  He just wants to find the legendary flowers and expresses his opinion which makes Yamato upset.

Kitora takes off to find the legendary flower when he sees a flower spirit and he's surprised.  Suddenly the ground collapses and he believes the spirit attacked and rejected him.  He is sad and later on at night he thinks back about the spirit and what it could have mean.  He finally goes to sleep when he sees a bright light and realizes he has petal of the legendary flower.

He heads off again to the place where he saw the flower spirit and sees her again.  Suddenly the ground collapses again and he falls into a cave.  Yamato follows him and they both try to find a way out of the cave when Kitora sees the spirit again.  This time he believes the spirit is trying to help them escape and he believes the other time it was warning him about the collapse.  They finally make it to the entrance and before the roof caves in Kitora pushes Yamato out.  Meanwhile Ryo and Asuka are looking for Kitora and Yamato. Suddenly Kitora arm comes out of the snow and he explains to everyone he believes the spirit was trying to tell him to help preserve the flower and make it bloom once again.  Everyone leaves to go back home.

Everyone's back at school when Kasuga asks Juta if he could arrange for him to meet Jewel Sachihana one more time before he transfer to college.  Juta asks Asuka if he could arrange it and he says leave it to him.  Asuka asks Hajime if he would help him with his disguise by doing his makeup but Hajime says no he will defeat Asuka at the next tournament.

Hajime is thinking about his future that he would do what he really wants to do in life work with makeup instead of taking over his father's company.  He is on his way home when he notices some new makeup and when he leaves he notices Asuka's dad.  They start talking about Asuka's disguise and Hajime realizes he was wrong not to help Asuka.  He rushes to the meeting place and is surprised to see Asuka in disguise with a basket over his head (this was so funny) and he grabs him and puts wig and does his makeup for him.  Kasuga confesses his love to Jewel Sachihana.
