I've finished "Ghost Shadow" the 1st book in her Bone Island Trilogy" by Heather Graham.

My Review:

Storyline:  In Key West, photographer David Beckett takes the group on a tour of his family's wax museum. They reach the Count von Cosel exhibit however, in the bed near the Count is not waxy version Elena, but the corpse of David's former fiancée Tanya Barnard. Although everyone suspected David killed her, no evidence proved he did. Still he left town with a cloud hanging over him.

Ten years later, the Barnard homicide remains unsolved as David returns to Key West. With the death of David's octogenarian grandfather last year, businesswoman Katie O'Hara, a ghost whisperer, wants to buy the wax museum; David opposes the sale.

Katie O'Hara, owner of Katie-okie, a karaoke business that seems to only play at her uncle's bar and restaurant, attempts to purchase a tourist attraction that has been vacant on the island ever since a woman was found murdered in one of the exhibits. The evening before the purchase goes through, she walks past the building and sees the lights on. Katie, of course, goes to investigate the mysterious lights only to find the co-owner of the building, and the man who many believed murdered the woman years before, David Beckett. After David blocks Katie's purchase of the museum, the two wind up teaming up in order to find out who killed the woman, David's ex-fiance, so many years before

He asks his friend Pete and his cousin Liam, both cops, to reopen the cold case. When a second murder occurs with the victim posed in a nearby museum, the Key West police and Katie wonder if the killer just came home from overseas after a decade away.

Katie can see and talk to ghosts and her constant companion is Bartholomew - a wise- cracking Privateer who is determined to keep her safe.

Characters:  Katie is one very determined, stubborn and smart women who won't let a man control her.  David was one very hot and sexy arrogant man who is determined to keep Katie safe from the killer and not end up like his ex-girlfriend. 

Romance:  I really did like the romance between Katie and David because he accepts that she can see and speak to ghosts when she finally tells him.  You can really feel the attraction between them from the moment they meet in the museum (though they both hated each other at that moment).  Some pretty steamy love scenes.

Killer(s): The killer was out for revenge and was quite creative on how they killed their victims.  Some people might pick up on who the killer might be while others might not.  Picked the right profession to figure out who to pick off and was very discreet on following them without anyone noticing.

I really loved how Graham incorporated true stories/legends into the storyline (really enjoyed learning about Robert the Doll, Carl Tanzler and Elena Milagro Hoyes).

My Review:

Elinor Harriman was born to a titled father and money hungry mother. When her mother left England for Paris, the downward spiral of their life began. Her mother moved from man to man, gambled and lost and eventually landed them in squalor. Now her mother is dying of the French disease and it's up to Elinor to protect the only thing Elinor truly values, her little sister, Lydia.

When Elinor's mother escapes in a moment of clarity from their home with the last of their meager valuables and cash, Elinor is forced to follow her. She locates her at the Heavenly Host, a place where anything goes and not a place for an innocent young girl. The Heavenly Host is run by the infamous Viscount Rohan and when Elinor is brought to his attention; he finds himself interested for the first time in years.

Francis Rohan is your typical alpha male but you just can't help liking him.  He's very quite unconventional and deviant.

Elinor isn't beautiful but she's selfless and witty while her younger sister Lydia is beautiful and not cold or shallow but warm and caring. 

I really enjoyed the love story between Charles (Francis's good friend) and Lydia.

My Review:

I really liked how L.A. Banks gave a happy ending for all of her characters. Hunter is more possessive and protective of Sasha but he has finally come to terms about his mate's relationship with his brother. His step-brother (Shogun) has taken steps towards his future and finding happiness. Sasha has grown stronger and finally seems at peace with her decision about her life and mate. There is no longer any lasting tension between Shogun, Sasha and Hunter. Sasha's extended family and team are all safe and stronger than ever. All real issues are resolved and Banks even offers a glimpse into their futures.

I'm sad that this is the last book in the series since it was getting really good!

Hi everyone! I’m Jess and I’m behind the “Gone with the Words” blog! I haven’t always been a reader, I was in Middle School (or Junior High to some of you), but lost interest in High School. It all changed in 2009 when I bought Twilight....and read it in a matter of hours. I then scrambled to get my hands on the rest of the series and didn’t leave my house all weekend. The rest is history. I was in love with books once again.

After reading about 200 books last year alone I decided to begin a blog where I could talk about them. Thus, Gone with the Words was born in January. At that time it wasn’t called that though, it was called “Read? Don’t Mind if I Do...” but wasn’t in love with that name. So I held a poll that included names suggested by other bloggers and Twitter friends, and that’s how I got the name for my blog. As for which genres I like, it’s evolving the more I read. I love Paranormal/Fantasy and Contemporary YA and Romance the most though. I also really like Urban Fantasy. If it’s a series, that’s even better.

Q. How did you come up with your blog name?

My blog name originated from two of my favorite genres Paranormal and Romantic Suspense.

My Review:
 
Tyler was a sexy and strong cowboy with manners.  He stood up for Emily when the town tried to shut her down.
 
Emily was quite timid at the beginning but as the story progressed she grew.  She's running from an ex-husband and a very bad marriage.
 
I really enjoyed the banter between the characters and I thought it was funny when Emily would be cooking and she would always get food on her chest.  Tyler would always notice and stare!
 
Wow the love scenes were very hot and sexy!
