His love of his family is his anchor, and gives him the strength to confront evil in his work. One man knows this deeply, and uses Alex's strength as a weapon against him in the most unsettling and unexpected novel of James Patterson's career.

When the ones Cross loves are in danger, he will do anything to protect them. If he does anything to protect them, they will die.

Liberty Call Port of Spain Paperback

The plot starts with three comical, class clowns turned military officers. Chief Warrant Officer Kenneth Nelton, Ensign Alfred Boltan, and Ensign Gregory Washington find themselves stationed together onboard a naval vessel. These misfits are keen at creating continual pranks just to keep the crew in good spirits, but always manage to keep senior management in turmoil from their silly plots in the name of fun.

Later, these three find themselves united with the king of pranks and mastermind of deception, Lieutenant Barry Soliere, when deceptively plotting for new transfer orders to Spain. Shortly upon their transfer, this elite group of comical military misfits finds themselves assigned on a five-day temporary duty in Spain.

Unable to distinguish their professional demeanor from everyday play, their non-stop childish behavior continually spills over into the workplace as they delight co-workers but manage to piss off senior management.

They embark on a fun-filled adventure while on liberty. They find themselves in deep trouble with a corrupt Spanish mobster when they befriend the boss’ ex-wife and his fiancĂ©, top models and strippers.

As if making an enemy out of the mob boss is not enough, they turn around and have a run-in with a notorious, dangerous, Jamaican drug lord while out on the town.

If you are new to the FF fun, Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday is now hosted by TWO hosts, myself of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

Now to make this FF interesting we do a FEATURE blogger. If you are interested in becoming a Feature click on the drop down link above FEATURES and Features and Follow Friday and get on the waiting list!  It is also required, that if you participate you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee and Alison Can Read) and the two Feature blogs.

This Meme is hosted by Rachel from Parajunkee's View and Alison from Alison Can Read on Fridays.

4.  Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.

5.  If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn’t have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed

6.  Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”

Our Feature is Bibliotaph’s Reviews

When did you start blogging?

I started my professional blog back in August, I’ve been kicking around on various blogging platforms since 2005.

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

I really, really enjoy writing the reviews and posting upcoming movies and books for people to see.

What type of books do you mainly blog about?

I read a lot of Young Adult novels, so that tends to be what I blog about most. I also have a fair number of comic books and historical fiction novels I like to read too.

What is your favorite book(s)?

Oooh, that’s a tough question. I suppose some of my favorites are the Harry Potter novels, the Redwall Abbey novels, and the Dragonriders of Pern novels.

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

I’ve met a lot of people through it, plus I had an author offer to send me a copy of his novel if I’d review it. I’m in the process of reading that novel now actually.

Our Feature - Rainy Dayz Reviewz

1. When did you start blogging?

I'm actually really new at blogging itself. I started in September. Before that I just kept up on Goodreads for over 2 years now.

2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?

Having an outlet for my love of books. My family isn't very interested in hearing me either gush about my favorite books or rant about something I don't like in a book.

3. What type of books do you mainly blog about?

Mostly Paranormal Romance but I've been trying to broaden my horizons and try other genres lately.

4. What are your favorite books?

It's really hard for me to pick just one book. My all time favorite series is The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson.

5. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

I get a huge thrill whenever someone responds to one of my posts. It's great when they say my post made them decide to try a book.

Q: Are there any book to movie adaptations where you think the movie is better than the book?

I haven't really seen that many movie adaptions but the ones I have enjoyed more are Gone with the Wind and Reacher (minus Tom Cruise as Reacher).

TV shows on the other hand I really enjoyed both the book and the TV series Sweet Valley High, Care bears, Jem and the Holograms, etc.

Takedown Twenty: A Stephanie Plum Novel Hardcover

Stephanie Plum has her sights set on catching a notorious mob boss. If she doesn’t take him down, he may take her out.

New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum knows better than to mess with family. But when powerful mobster Salvatore “Uncle Sunny” Sunucchi goes on the lam in Trenton, it’s up to Stephanie to find him. Uncle Sunny is charged with murder for running over a guy (twice), and nobody wants to turn him in — not his poker buddies, not his bimbo girlfriend, not his two right-hand men, Shorty and Moe. Even Trenton’s hottest cop, Joe Morelli, has skin in the game, because — just Stephanie’s luck — the godfather is his actual godfather. And while Morelli understands that the law is the law, his old-world grandmother, Bella, is doing everything she can to throw Stephanie off the trail.

It’s not just Uncle Sunny giving Stephanie the run-around. Security specialist Ranger needs her help to solve the bizarre death of a top client’s mother, a woman who happened to play bingo with Stephanie’s Grandma Mazur. Before Stephanie knows it, she’s working side by side with Ranger and Grandma at the senior center, trying to catch a killer on the loose — and the bingo balls are not rolling in their favor.

With bullet holes in her car, henchmen on her tail, and a giraffe named Kevin running wild in the streets of Trenton, Stephanie will have to up her game for the ultimate takedown.

My Review:

This manga is for the older crowd because it deals with mature matters regarding two strangers who are dealing with marriage.

Chiwa is a normal girl who likes simple things but has doubts about her husband Hokuto motives.  She isn't even sure he likes her, doesn't really make sense of the game he plays at work.

To further complicate the situation Hokuto is photographed with another woman and denies he is having an affair, a new employee is hired who Chiwa has taken under her wings and a former flame wants to hire her.

Dust (A Scarpetta Novel) Hardcover

From the world’s number-one bestselling crime writer comes the extraordinary new Kay Scarpetta novel.

Massachusetts Chief Medical Examiner Kay Scarpetta has just returned from working one of the worst mass murders in U.S. history when she’s awakened at an early hour by Detective Pete Marino.

A body, oddly draped in an unusual cloth, has just been discovered inside the sheltered gates of MIT and it’s suspected the identity is that of missing computer engineer Gail Shipton, last seen the night before at a trendy Cambridge bar. It appears she’s been murdered, mere weeks before the trial of her $100 million lawsuit against her former financial managers, and Scarpetta doubts it’s a coincidence. She also fears the case may have a connection with her computer genius niece, Lucy.

At a glance there is no sign of what killed Gail Shipton, but she’s covered with a fine dust that under ultraviolet light fluoresces brilliantly in three vivid colors, what Scarpetta calls a mineral fingerprint. Clearly the body has been posed with chilling premeditation that is symbolic and meant to shock, and Scarpetta has reason to worry that the person responsible is the Capital Murderer, whose most recent sexual homicides have terrorized Washington, D.C. Stunningly, Scarpetta will discover that her FBI profiler husband, Benton Wesley, is convinced that certain people in the government, including his boss, don’t want the killer caught.

In Dust, Scarpetta and her colleagues are up against a force far more sinister than a sexual predator who fits the criminal classification of a “spectacle killer.” The murder of Gail Shipton soon leads deep into the dark world of designer drugs, drone technology, organized crime, and shocking corruption at the highest levels.

With unparalleled high-tension suspense and the latest in forensic technology, Patricia Cornwell once again proves her exceptional ability to surprise — and to thrill.

Manga Review: Kitchen Princess Omnibus 3 Paperback

I've finished "Kitchen Princess Omnibus Vol. 3" by Natsumi Ando.

ROYALTY AND RIVALRY

Najika's replacement as spokesperson for the cooking school arrives at Seika Academy, and she is not too fond of him. Seiya is stuck up and rude, which would be easier to handle if he didn't look just like her past love, Sora! As their rivalry escalates, a competition is held between them and Najika must win to save her old orphanage, the Lavender House. All the while, Najika is working to unveil the mysterious truth about her Flan Princess and the Kitazawa brothers. But when old memories resurface, will Najika be ready for them?

This omnibus contains volumes 5, 6 and 7 of Kitchen Princess, and special extras after the story!

ISBN-13: 978-1612620640

My Review:

Volume 5 deals with Najika suffering from tendinitis and not being able to finish the cooking competition.  She's very lucky she is one of the three to advance to the next level.  She also overhears the Director talking to Sora about the plan he has organized for her.  She feels betrayed and Sora convinces her to forgive him by making something for her.  A character is killed off in a major accident.

Volume 6 deals with Najika losing her sense of taste and suffering from the lost of someone very important to her.  Her replacement Seiya Mizuno arrives and he's rude and arrogant especially towards Najika.  In order to save Lavender House she agrees to a competition against Seiya which she wins.

This omnibus is a little more serious with the death of a character and how people are dealing with it.
