Contemp Review: Last Chance Knit & Stitch Mass Market Paperback

I've finished "Last Chance Knit and Stitch" the 6th book in her Last Chance series by Hope Ramsay.

Molly Canaday wishes she could repair her life as easily as she fixes cars. She was all set to open her own body shop in Last Chance when her mother ran off and left her to manage the family yarn shop instead. Now guided by the unsolicited-though well-intended - advice of the weekly knitting club, Molly works to untangle this mess. But her plan unravels when the new landlord turns out to be difficult-as well as tall, dark, and handsome.

Simon Wolfe returns to quickly settle his father's estate and then leave Last Chance for good. Still wounded by a broken heart, Simon is surprised when the town's charming streets and gentle spirit bring back good memories. Soon the beautiful, strong-willed Molly sparks a powerful attraction that tempts him to break his iron-clad no - commitment rule. Can Simon and Molly find a way to share work space - and build a future together in Last Chance?

About the Author

Hope Ramsay grew up on the North Shore of Long Island, but every summer Momma would pack her off under the care of Aunt Annie to go visiting with relatives in the midlands of South Carolina. Her extended family includes its share of colorful aunts and uncles, as well as cousins by the dozens, who provide the fodder for the characters you'll find in Last Chance, South Carolina. She's a two-time finalist in the Golden Heart and is married to a good ol' Georgia boy who resembles every single one of her heroes. She lives in Fairfax, Virginia, where you can often find her on the back deck, picking on her thirty-five-year-old Martin guitar.

PNR Review: Shadowdance (Darkest London) Mass Market Paperback

I've finished "Shadowdance" the 4th book in her Darkest London series by Kristen Callihan.

Once a heart is lost in shadow

Life has been anything but kind to Mary Chase. But the Society for the Suppression of Supernaturals has given her purpose. Now she's been tasked with catching a vicious murderer dubbed the Bishop of Charing Cross. But someone is already on the case-and the last thing he relishes is a partner.

Only someone who lives in darkness can find it.

Jack Talent has been alone with his demons for many years.

He never expected to have the willful Mary Chase assist him on the Bishop case. Their age-old rivalry reaches new heights - even as their desire for one another reaches a fever pitch. Though he aches to bring her close, Jack's dark secrets are a chasm between them. With dangerous enemies closing in, Jack must find the strength to face the past or risk losing Mary forever.

About the Author

Kristen Callihan is a child of the eighties, which means she's worn neon skirts, black lace gloves, and combat boots (although never all at once) and can quote John Hughes movies with the best of them. A lifelong daydreamer, she finally realized that the characters in her head needed a proper home and thus hit the keyboard. She believes that falling in love is one of the headiest experiences a person can have, so naturally she writes romance. Her love of superheroes, action movies, and history led her to write historical paranormals. She lives in the Washington, D.C., area and, when not writing, looks after two children, one husband, and a dog - the fish can fend for themselves.

My Review:

Jack Talent is a shapeshifter who after being kidnapped and tortured at the end of book 3 Winterblaze, he has withdrawn from his friends and family.  As a result, it is hurting everyone.

Mary Chase is in training to become a SOS Regulator and she has volunteered for her first case which involves the Bishop of Charing Cross.  The demon has been murdering people for months and Jack has been investigating for about year but hasn't been able to solve the case.  Then the SOS receive some disturbing news:  Jack is the deadly Bishop.

Even though Mary is attracted to Jack she has vowed to bring him down even though she figured out he was only murdering to exact revenge against the ones who hurt and tortured him in the past.

I highly recommend this book if you a dark and intriguing storyline, angst and sexual attraction that will blow your mind away and well-written characters.
