Follow My Blog Friday #219

If you are new to the FF fun, Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday is now hosted by TWO hosts, myself of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

Now to make this FF interesting we do a FEATURE blogger. If you are interested in becoming a Feature click on the drop down link above FEATURES and Features and Follow Friday and get on the waiting list!  It is also required, that if you participate you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee and Alison Can Read) and the two Feature blogs.

This Meme is hosted by Rachel from Parajunkee Review and Alison from Alison Can Read on Fridays.

To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:

1.  (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee and Alison Can Read}

2.  (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers

3.  Put your Blog name and URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.

4.  Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.

5.  If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn’t have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed

6.  Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”.

7.  If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love and the followers.

8.  If you’re new to the follow Friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!

Our Feature is Coffee and Characters

When did you start blogging?

I started blogging in early 2013, first as a lifestyle blogger for a few months before realizing how much I loved books and switching to being a book blogger.

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

The opportunity to interact with authors. It is so great to hear that an author appreciated my review or to be contacted for an ARC book request. It makes me feel a little special and it gives me the opportunity to asks questions and pick their brains.

What type of books do you mainly blog about?

I primarily blog about Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance but I do dabble in sci-fi and YA from time to time.

What is your favorite book(s)?

This is a tough one because I like so many but I recently finished Rachel Bach’s Paradox series which by far are my absolute fav Sci-fi books. I’m also a HUGE Karen Chance fan and love the Cassie Palmer books.

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

Book blogging has turned me into a writer somehow. I think after reading so much I developed a writers itch and I actually released by debut UF novel Cursed by Fire earlier this year under the name Danielle Annett. It has also allowed me to build some pretty great friendships with other people who love books as much as I do.

Our Feature - Bookworm Book Reviews

1. When did you start blogging?

I started blogging in August of last year. I've loved reading all my life and I tend to devour one book after another. While that's enjoyable, I never took the time to really process the books I read. I would find that, except for the occasional stand out book, I was forgetting what I had read about and even whether I liked certain books or not. So, as a way to force myself to slow down and think, and as a way to get more involved with other bookish people, I decided to start my blog. I'm so glad I did, it's been so fun!

2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?

There are so many things! I think I would have to say the interaction between bloggers. It's so much fun to read about the books other bloggers have enjoyed and the books they are looking forward to that haven't been released yet. I thought I had a problem with my TBR list before I started blogging, but that was nothing compared to my list now! I also love getting comments and commenting on other bloggers' posts. It's just so nice to be able to talk about books with people. No one in my family reads the same books I do, so it's always enjoyable to talk to someone who does like those books.

3. What type of books do you mainly blog about?

I mainly blog about YA books. I didn't really intend for that to happen, I thought I would have more of a mix than that, but the YA books are just so good, I can't stay away. I like a lot of different genres, so I do also have some PNR, NA, and mystery/ suspense thrown in there as well, but it is mostly YA. I try to read what I want to. I don't like feeling pressured to read something that I'm not all that interested in, so all of my books are either bought or have been requested through Netgalley. I feel like blogging stays fun that way. 4. What are your favorite books?

My favorite book of all time is Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. I love Gothic novels, and as soon as I read Rebecca, it replaced my former favorite, Jane Eyre. I'm not usually much into the classics, but I really love a good Gothic romance. I just wish they weren't so hard to find.

4. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

I would have to say getting mentioned or direct messaged on twitter by authors has been the best thing. I love getting a tweet back from an author, after I've reviewed their book(s), thanking me and telling me they are happy I enjoyed it. It just makes my day. :-)

Question of the Week: Your house is burning down and you have time to select three books you own to take with you. What three books? - Suggested by Alison Can Read

2.  Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward
3.  Lover At Last by J.R. Ward
