Katie Reus Alpha Instinct Blog Tour with Giveaway and Guest Post

A little about me: I’ve been reading romance from a young age — ever since I discovered my mom’s hidden stash. Luckily the addiction stayed with me into adulthood. I write paranormal romance and sexy romantic suspense for Carina Press, Harlequin Nocturne, and NAL/Signet Eclipse. To learn more about me please visit my website, my blog, facebook or find me on twitter@katiereus.

I am so excited to have Katie Reus here to talk about why she loves to be author in a guest post here at Paranormal and Romantic Suspense Reviews.

Katie is currently touring to promote her newest paranormal release Alpha Instincts.

Thanks so much Katie for allowing me to join your blog tour with a Giveaway and Guest Post!

Please take it away, Katie!

Thanks so much to Paranormal and Romantic Suspense Reviews for letting me blog here today! Since I had a release out earlier this month (Alpha Instinct!), I’ve been guest blogging at a lot of places and have basically been strapped to my computer chair. I haven’t accomplished much actual writing this month but I’ve met a lot of new readers, which has been really cool. All this online activity and interaction with readers has reminded me why I love being a writer so I thought I’d share all the reasons I love my job so much. These are in no particular order:

1. Research. If I have a question about weapons I usually just ask my husband but if I have a question about police or other governmental procedures, I have a handful of people I can contact. Hanging out with various law enforcement professionals (and getting out of the house) is always fun!

2. Reader connection! I’ve met so many readers in the last couple years and it always floors me when someone (NOT related to me) takes time out of their busy schedule to write and let me know they’ve enjoyed something of mine. I’ve met a couple friends that way! This month in particular I feel like I’ve had so much more contact with readers and that just amazes me.

3. I love seeing the expression on people’s faces when they find out I write romance. If I’m in a rush I’ll just say I write fiction if someone asks what I do for a living (and that sounds pretty boring). But when I throw in the word romance for some reason people usually don’t know what to say. When I tell them I write about shifters and vampires and supernatural creatures, their expressions are priceless.

4. The voices in my head have an outlet. If I wasn’t a writer, I’d probably be locked up somewhere.

5. My work clothes consist of yoga pants and t-shirts. (And this month, sweaters!)

6. I get to read for fun. Enough said.

7. If I want to take a break in the middle of my work day and take a nap, I can. Heh, okay, before having a baby I used to be able to do this. So maybe I should say if my little man is taking a nap and I feel like it, I can doze too. I’m sort of a slave to his moods ;)

8. Since becoming a writer, I’ve met a lot of other writers. And they’re freaking awesome. Romance writers are the nicest, most giving people on the planet. I met one of my now best friends through on-line interaction (she’s a writer too) and can’t imagine not knowing her.

9. No matter how crappy I’m feeling, once I start typing and immerse myself in a new world, any feelings of despondency I might have because of a review or rejection, totally disappear. Everything else becomes background noise when I’m involved in a story.

10. I can write anywhere!

Alpha Instinct: A Moon Shifter Novel [Mass Market Paperback]
Alpha Instinct official blurb:

Fear has a scent. So does desire …

Ana Cordona has been a strong leader for the lupine shifters who survived after all the males and most of the females in her pack were mysteriously poisoned. As tough as she is, with no Alpha male, the pack is vulnerable to the devious shifter Taggart, who wants to claim both their ranch and Ana as his own. When Connor Armstrong comes back into her life, promising protection, it’s almost enough to make Ana forget how he walked out on her before — and reluctantly accept his offer to mate.

The minute Connor sees Ana again, it reawakens a raw hunger. He must have her for his bondmate — his wolf cries out for it. But his human side knows he must proceed with caution because of their complicated past. If he is to truly have her body and soul, he must go beyond his burning desire and win back her heart. Whatever it takes, he is determined not to leave her side again.

But Taggart and his rival pack are not their only enemies. A human element in town is targeting shifters. Their plan not only threatens Ana and Connor’s future, but the lives of the entire pack …

Getting to read for fun is definitely one thing I would love to have in any job. It's great that when you write you are able to immerse yourself in that world. As a reader I love the feeling of slipping into the characters' world. Thank you for a great post. I'm glad you love what you do!

This book sounds so great, I love the idea of wolves being an adult paranormal romance story. I read a lot of teen and I think this could be so different done in an adult pov. Thanks for the great post and giveaway.
